driving w/ no rear DS in 4x4?

i don't think that drive should have killed your tcase. i did the same thing, and mine started to buck on the freeway with a really hard "thunkbang." i pulled over and noticed atf all over my backlight. like a moron, i forgot that my fluid was going to leak out. i filled it back up and so far everything works (a few months later and several thousand miles)

Just asked JB conversions this same question and I was told something to the effect that there is slack in the chain and getting on and off the gas can put extra stress on the case " chain "since all the power is going to the front whereas before it was 50/50 split to the back. Front output is not designed for the full load like the rear is.

You can do it, not recomended.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
