Do you guys think this is salvageable?

Oh, and would it be acceptable to look around and take/buy any small parts on the spot?

I've never had access to a 97+ xj.

Is there a front driveshaft?

And the bumper, yeah that'd be easier if you guys started to pull it, just please make sure the hardware comes off intact.

Thanks!

so I thought this would be helpful to anyone coming to my house.
I live in kinda a weird neighborhood as you'll find out if you're comin to get parts so I figured I'd write directions myself here. trust me, they'll be way better than mapquest or google maps.

assuming you're all coming over 17 you'll need to take the mount hermon road exit. it's the second main exit into scotts valley.
turn right onto mount hermon road and stay on this road for several miles, you'll pass through scotts valley and continue between some hills and down into felton.
mount hermon road will end at a stop light, across from you will be a park with a carved bull.
turn left onto graham hill.
go say 200+ yards, turn left again at conference drive. it's right across from the laundramat on your right.
continue up conference drive until you come to a crosswalk.
shortly after that turn right up forest road, there's a post office right here as a good marker.
go up and follow this road, it'll come to a fork and turn right, continue on this road for a while. it weaves around a good bit.
you'll turn a corner and there will be a big blue house and then the street will split again, continue straight and our house is the second on the right. you'll probably see the truck out front and some jeeps.
my number is 831 332 0553 incase you get lost!
:D

it's awesome!
we got a lot pulled off.
we're just about to sell the lift.
we'll give you a call in just a bit bryan, and tenny let me know about the bumper, he had some extra tie in brackets that came with it.

Awesome, I can't wait to get it... then again my jeep still isn't even done.

I gave my neighbor $150 to weld in my new brackets (which I thought was very high for something that appears rather easy to me... I cut off and cleaned up the old ones for him) and I gave it to him on Tuesday... and he's still working on it right now. I told him I needed it by mid Friday at the latest...

by the way for the record this was really freaking cool that this actually happened! and it was cool of jimbo to tow the damn thing and let us do it all at his place, and for his mom feeding us all day long! it was worth waking up at 7am and getting home at 1am....

1 a.m? Ouch. What time did you end up leaving?

left jimbos house a little after 930, heard some popping up front on tight turns and jam nut on the RE hd trackbar was loose, waited at a local gas station for jimbo to bring me a crescent wrench i left there i thought would fit, it didnt. finally ended up leaving scotts valley at around 10pm. drove like a bat outta hell to dublin, dropped off bryans seats used a bigger wrench and then high tailed it back to sac. i was home by 1245...close to one. with the 4.88s and 31's i rode between 2600-3200 rpms the whole way home in OD have no idea what speed. cant wait to swap on the 33's....

thanks bryan! yah im heading over to RE tomorrow to get the sf tool, prob end up replacing the distributor today, i think it might be bad, when i did the cap and rotor i could move the rotor back and forth a good amount, is that not normal???

You think you can pick up some ring pins for my swaybar disco's when you go to RE. I lost one during a snow run. RE1198 I can stop by your place with the cash when ever you want this week.

Yeah, so the whole teardown was awesome.

Thanks guys.

Tenny was really cool, he got his bumper.

My bumper when on fine, I did have to wallow out the mounting holes, but it looks awesome, and people don't tail gate me anymore!

Pics soon.

Sean, Jim, everyone thanks for everything.

I got the bumper on yesterday afternoon once the rain lifted for a bit. One of the mounts was slightly bent, and I already had front tow mounts, so I had to remove them. Wasn't too hard to get on so I am very pleased. I already checked the winch, and everything will mount up perfectly. Just waiting for another day with some nice weather so I can repaint the bumper then put the winch and everything else on!.
