I have searched and did not really find what i was looking for, so if you have pics of one you are working on or built in the past post away. also any problems you ran into that might save others some headaches. I have some stainless steel i plan on using and am mostly looking for how others have mounted there racks, but would invite any diy roofrack info.

I may still have my JCR Low-Pro roof rack by WF if I don't sell it before then I'm sure I'll bring it down to try and sell... Comes with 4 Hella Lights...

Something to think about here. On Craigslist I wa sable to find someone selling two cargo carriers that go into a receiver hitch. I was able to cut one end off or each , and weld them together.

I dont know what your looking for, but here is one option

JcrOffroad Roof Rack Mounts

These are nice! They are what JCR used on the Low-Pro rack I have, solid and never budges, even when I caught a Birch tree 3in in dia. broke it off and took it 30ft down the trail, never even knew it except by those behind me.

Honestly, use electrical conduit to build yourself one. Look at the pics on my Alaska to Ohio thread. I built that in my garage with a chop saw, welder, wire wheel, and the tool that electricians use to bend conduit. It was easy It holds up very well, I carried a moose on the roof during a hunt rescue. It didn't bend at all.

Important thing to know... The conduit is galvanized. you have to remove as much of the galvanized coating with a wire wheel before you weld. The gasses will make you sick if you breath them. I made sure I wasn't over the work when welding.

Total of 15$ in material, $30 for the tool. love the end result.

Why not just skip the entire welding thing and use 4sq boxes and pipe connectors to put it together. You know, you can even buy colored pipe, so you can skip the entire painting step also.

If you mount the 4sq boxes to the roof and close nipple them to the roof instead of screwing then down, you now have an easy wiring path for roof mounted lights.

If you really want to get fancy, you can use WX proof boxes to keep the water out of the cab ;)

Well played!

omg! i could have gfci at every corner and replace the rear windows with flat screens , surround sound system the list goes on.

While that would make for a cool tailgater rig i am surprised i have not seen this type of rack where i live lol.

JCR that is exactly what i am looking for i may just have to order some when i get the rack built .

OD i will check that thread out not a bad idea and i may need to hall a body or i mean moose some day so good to know it has been tested.

keep em coming pics would be great.
