Someones got to teach that boy that XJs are made to be ridden on their wheels not on their sides

Tumbleweed I rolled..dead
Tumbleweed II miraculously did not roll!!
Tumbleweed III rolled..MIA

XJGuy, you don't have any room to talk for someone that couldn't even get his junk together to come out and actually wheel.

B's junk worked really well. I was quite impressed with it's stability until he flopped it coming off UPG from rescuing my sorry ass. I'd say that one was probably 90% driver error though. His junk looks way better now that it has some major sheetmetal damage. I won't talk about magically spewing shocks :D

xjg.....

I'd pay any amount of money to see you sitting in your rig atop the last obstacle on upper proving grounds.....ANY AMOUNT.

TEACH ME?

I think someone needs to teach you how to get a jeep off-pavement, and what it means to "git some"

once you get your rig finished, give me a yell, and you and I can go play on some "rollover more than likely" trails.

my rig is DESIGNED TO ROLL and my driving appetite assumes I may roll on the next obstacle.....

how bout yours?

All I want to know is how long it's going to take lose some more sheetmetal?

I have a your junk is going on a diet over the winter...........

CRASH

crash.

I'm cutting the entire back half off.

I don't use the rear spring hanger (obviously) so all that metal back there is useless.....

I can't wait.

let the sawzall out of the cage!

Dan, Beez hit it spot on. My rig climbs like nothing I've ever been in. That's to be expected when 90% of the weight is up front. Going downhill isn't the greatest. The backend was coming around on me until I tied the axle to the cage. It's not soo bad now. I've got some spring rate changes to make on all 4 corners and she should be quite the contender. I wasn't going to enter it in the comps, but if I get my front 60, rear selectable locker, and D300 in over the winter, I may just have to.

Sean

but if I get my front 60

How about just some real hubs, Quarter Ton?

This picture is right after B was the ONLY one who went up an obstical noone else wanted to go up because we all knew we had to go down it.

B went up to do the best thing you can do while wheeling with buds and that was to rescue another bud. B got the "Above and Beyond" award in my book! (Even though the one he rescued got the "Dumb a$$ award)

I sure didn't want to drive down it and was glad to see B did it first so my junk wasn't needed.

B is the hero in this situation and paid the big price of setting his rig on it's side. So until your in line behind me waiting to see if your junk is needed to help out, shut the **** up. Man Rich, stepped in a big pile of sh!t didn't you. I'll be there ready to match that money B offered up.

one scrote,

it'll be interesting to see if moving the radiator/fan/battery to the rear will affect the performance.....

if you could get a wee bit o' weight off the front and on the back, that rig of yours will be pretty damn close to perfect.

I'm pretty impressed with the 1/4 elip, and want to stick with it to see how much I can dial it in.

'member when i was asking if poly would hold up??? 'member I wanted to make steel spring bushings?

welp, I'm gonna need to, cause the shackles have pretty much listed over on an angle.

the bushings are toast.

Sean, have you weighed your rig, on four different scales like we do with the stock cars, to get your front/rear - left/right ratio? might not be a bad idea if you havn't so you have a start point to dialing it in. Has anyone figured out what the ideal ratio would be?

Sniff sniff...something stinks.....

I know Beez is the da'man thats why I took a shot at him.....when your at the top of your game its part of the "rewards".

Dont mind me...I got cages in both my Jeeps, but Im in no hurry to see how well my XJs survive any kind of roll. So if it looks like it might roll, dont look at me to try it any time soon

Keep it rollin Beez.....but maybe you better cage the entire Jeep exteriro next time...make the cage spherical that way it will be that much easier to right yourself up ;)

Video of Beez getting righted man...wasn't too bad, plus the engine started right up without any problems :)

And I gots to say...Beez did a damn good job on that build-up, it's impressive to see in person...but be warned, it steals Zippos! :D

Edit: And Beezil..I still owe you a damn beer...forgot about it Friday night!

of course, the pictures don't do the obstacle justice, it is pretty ugly.

any obstacle that causes john jacobs to nervously light up a cig after he gets over it is an obstacle that requires careful study before attempting.

the thing that sucked is, I did that obstacle the day before.....I think over-confidence and a bit of a "who gives a shit" attitude, as well as not gassing out of it hard enough played a part, but not nearly as much as the fact that the road gave way
