DD tires?

I run 35x12.50r15 Grabber AT2s with carbide studs as my winter tires here in Colorado. Even with the studs in them they balanced easier and drive smoother than my old BFG Mud Terrains did and they have pretty good traction for trail cruising as well.

This storm is my first chance to really drive them every day since I bought them last summer during the combined Sears summer tire sale coinciding with the General Tire rebate deal. If I had known they were so smooth and well behaved I might have bought another set without studs to run as my commuter tires.

Yeah, studded tires are illegal in Indiana or I'd have a set for winter. My KM2's have always balanced well.

I believe they will price match

They do. And if your old tires have enough life left in them that they could be re-sold for a used one (safely), they'll buy them from you (credit towards the purchase of the new set).

Hmm....that changes things. Im mostly looking at an AT but its hard to make a decision. Looks Vs onroad performance vs offroad performance.

You can run studded tires in Indiana from Oct 1 - May 1. We ran them on the company cars last year.

O RLY? Why haven't you told me this Byron? :D

I DD'd and weekend wheeled a set of BFG A/T's for years on my Jeep. Got around 60k out of them before I had to get rid of them.

hankook atm rf10
better than the wildpeaks. magical in snow, wheeled harlan rocks.

I have both.

Just put another set of hankooks on.

At some point around 9/32" and 63,000 miles, they became nohooks. They weren't as magical anymore.

245/70/17 for $113 a tire :) Back in business.

well I'd say 63k miles makes a $113 tire a pretty good deal.

Going to 17s on the EX. Are the Hankooks an E rated tire?

They are $140 ea in a 265/70/17 on the discount tire site.

You and munchie give them good reviews.

mac 'just need a decent E tire' gyvr

I believe they have an E. Hankooks website has a list of their sizes. It's impressive

Problem is that is the price for a 16 rim. 31X10.5R15 are $153 each
KJ steelires are cheap. 245/75-16s are cheaper than any 30/31" 15. That's pretty much the same across the board. LT sizes are dieing.

I know there was an e-rated 16, so I'd assume so. Lots of guys running them on 3/4 tons.

LT265/70R17 121/118 S 8.0 7.0-8.5 31.6 10.7 8.1 14.5 657 DSB 8080 3,195
2,910

does exist, and looks like it's 3195lbs in SRW application.

You can't beat General Grabber AT2's for price, longevity, and all around performance on a DD. I've had 3 sets of them on 2 XJ's and my ZR2 and they are excellent!

I talked Dylan into a set of the hankooks too.

this is what he says

These tires are TOO good. Theyre no fun

so I guess if you're looking to do donuts in the snow, don't buy atms.

BFG KO's!
