you got to be kidding me. i just dropped my hp30 off at the shop including an aussie. this would have saved me about $500. It sat for about a year and I finally bite the bullet. go figure.

day late and 500 shorter.

Jes is right. The no set-up needed thing is total bullshit. Buying used gears is always a crapshoot, but to say they will drop right in is ridiculous. I would save your money and buy a new set considering you WILL need to set them up properly.

Maybe they come free with the housing they're set up for. :spin1:

backlash is set with the shims, pinion depth is set and im giving the correct shims for preload, what else do you need??? nothing....

Uh, ya right.

reaLLY??? ive blown up ring & pinions, went to the junkyard pulled another set, installed them, checked everything and the setup was fine.... in the last 17 years ive been wheeling, ive built plenty of thirds so im not talking out of my ass about shit......

I've personally never seen one Dana housing that was identical to another Dana housing so I prefer to properly set up my R&Ps. But then again, I would never run a used gearset anyway...

A Dana is not an Eaton or Ford 9. You don't get a full third member from one axle and pop it in another.

Note to everybody but Rob707, don't follow this advise. This advise is bad and will kill baby puppies.
