Dana 44 Axle?

From other post I have read it sounds like it is best to not have ABS for any off road driving.

Does that sound right?

Well... According to Yucca-man's webpage on axles the 29 spline was used starting late 96 so I hope this applies to my 97.

Thanks for all the help!

I have yet to hear or read that the Dana 35 is better than the 8.25 regardless if its 27 or 29 spline!

my D35 is 100X better than any 8.25, there now you have read it but it does'nt make it true:D

One more question.

By looking at the picture Is there any way one can tell if it is a LSD? Besides the 35 tag I don't see any other tags stating if it is.

I plan to pull the cover, drain and add new oil in the next few days. I just wish I knew if it was a LSD before so I would know if I need to buy FM.

If you want to see if it's a limited-slip without pulling the cover, jack up both rear wheels and spin one of them. If the other spins in the opposite direction, you have an open differential. If it spins in the same direction, you have a limited-slip.

I'll bet you that that "3 5" tag means that it has 3.55 gears, and not that it's a d35.

Did you read this whole thread before you posted?
