If your going to go with the 44 you want to get a HP44 as with any front axle. Donors are hard to come by you might have to do more research first, whatever vehicle you find it in it will most likely need a new bracket kit welded on it unless you are lucky enough to find on that was put in an XJ,TJ or ZJ already. I would say get yourself an ARB or a Detroit if your going to keep the 30.
Right now would be best. Before I spend any money on a d30. I have dreams of coil overs and a 3 link or something of the sort. If I was smart I would save up and do it all at once. But I have been putting the cart before the horse since 1983... So I figure I'll spend money on the d30. Trash it, waste the money. Build a d44, re-weld coil springs and then switch to coil overs later. I think that would be about the ultimate way to spend the most money on my front end.
But it is mostly a trail rig then a rock crawler... So the d30 may be just fine.
