Yep. Guys trip, going up Thursday afternoon, Coming home Saturday. We'll definitely have to meet up. Hoping to have the doors and stero done by then.

Chris

Back to Truckhaven on the weekend of the 16th? I'm trying to get out.
You can meet your XJ's daddy.....

Thanks but we're headed to glamis the following weekend and I just can't pull off back to back weekends anymore like I used to. We'll have to catch up soon though, we need pics of them wheeling together :)

Perfect! I will be up thursday as well, coming back friday!

OK started the stereo install.....

Sub and amp are test fit....Had to build a fiberglass bottomed box to get the 10" to fit. I'll post more as I get it on.

Damn Chris, the rig is going on to a whole different level... you know how to do fiberglass enclosures.... cause I might be hitting you up if so.. the Bronco needs some sub cabinets on the sides!

Anytime Tony. My buddy Dave owns the Al & Ed's at Ontario Mills and he's been teaching me a few things. Not hard at all just messy :) Let me know when you are ready and we can plan a time to get you set up.

Chris

Tried and tried to find a good spot to fit the mid's and high's but just couldn't find a spot a liked so I am going with a pair of these bolted to the cage above the back seat.

Skylon WakeBoard tower speakers. Not the most subtle install but they should put out plenty of Volume. I've been running their big set-up under the hatch in the boat for a couple of years and they work great for getting the sound up and out of the boat. Going to try and make a swivle mount for them so I can face them forward when crusing and then turn them towards the back when stopping for some freshees or hangoing out at camp.

Also going iPod direct to the amp so no head unit. I hope to fill the space with a race radio tied into the intercom system but the wifey is frowning on that idea:twak:
As always I'll try to get pics up as I go.

Thanks, I want to run a single, or possible dual 10" on te side of the bronco... just need to find an extra rear panel so I can chop this one up freely.

Chris,
Just an FYi, the Jeep is already prewired for a race radio. There is a power cord set up right below/beneath the center console. I picked up a new Kenwood TM217 from ham radio outlet, and did the mod to it myself for it to transmit (uh oh, gonna get flamed for that one). Its like $150. Let me know if you need help with that.

Sounds good. I have an extra 10" and 500W mono amp collecting dust if you are interested. Let me know when you are ready :)

Found the radio wiring and I left the little speaker in there too just gotta get the wife to give me my alloance for the month :)

Hahaha, I hear you on the wife allowance thing. I am set on the audio gear, I have a JL Audio 500/5 powering the bronco with 2 JL 10"woofer in a sealed box, it just takes up too much space, so I want to do somehting like this:

We can do something like that pretty easy, might take a few days though to let each later dry. Just need some fleece to stretch to the shape and then the covering material/carpet to match. Let me know when you want to start the build and I can line you on the materials you need.

10-4.....I dont care about the front side being rounded..... that can be MDF with flat board across...... the rear is what I want to be flush with the panels...

OK slight change of plans...hooked up the 4 channel Eclipse amp and the internal x-over was toaste...tried the 2 channel PPI and it only wanted to work as a sub amp, highs were totally distorted :( oh well they served a tough life:angel:

So ended up buying a new 4 channel Alpine that matches up well with the Mono Alpine sub amp I already had. Bridged it down to 2 channel and it puts out a decent amount of power to the tower speakers. Overall I'm really happy with the sound quality....not as stealth as I like but oh well the rest of the Jeep isn't really "stealth" either.

Sub and amps mounted....I didn't spend much time on the looks because the back seat totally hides them all.

Welded 1/4" thick tabs to the cage with gussets for the speaker mounts.

Went iPod direct to the amps through a small volume knob mounted on the center console. iPod goes on the center console out of harms way. Also wired a lighted toggle switch to turn the amps on and off.

Ok thats it for now. Next is the intercom and race radio install but I think I need to build a new center console to get that to fit so it may be a few weeks.

Chris

looking good man, i thought i heard you messing with it the other night from 2 blocks away haha. did you do all stereo install yourself? i could use some help with that. would like to add an amp and sub to mine.

LOL Thanks...I don't think it's that loud :) Let me know and we can get you set up with an amp and sub. Not hard to do and I have a left over sub box that tucks into the passenger side rear cargo area/fender.
