Again, please stop making up the meaning here. I asked for 'truths', as in something that is FACTUAL. Everything you mentioned is doctrine of religious THEORY. You stated your BELIEFS, which aren't fact. It may SEEM right to you, but they're not proven fact. Do you not find it odd that the bible is the only historical reference there is? I'm not saying that the bible is fake, I'm saying that the visions and prophecies may very well be grossly exaggerated based on hearsay. How do you honestly expect a collection of documents to remain fully intact after thousands of years?

As for finding something wrong...your stipulations on 'my' findings can go both ways. You're hanging on the faith that an ancient person was seeing straight when they wrote their view on the situation. Two aspects of the bible to look at here: historical and spiritual. There's plenty of accurate history there, but the visions and prophecies are from the point of view of ONE PERSON. Once that story spreads, then oppressed people see hope in it and begin having their own 'experiences'. Strikingly similar, at that. Again, I find the whole religious quagmire fascinating.

well im not trying to poke the fire here but i can clearly tell who the pew jumpers are on here. you can always tell because theyre the crazy one always trying to out Jesus each other. Frankly it pisses me off. ok, not to sound bad or offend anyone, but here it goes. so 30 or so people "wrote the word of God" right. but what one religion maintained the Book for a good period of years before printing presses made the Bible a house hold item?? if one group held the Book for that time period, then they could edit to suit thier idea of religion

just my sick and morbid view on religion.

Since the group you speak of obviously believes in the God that gave them the book, why would they disobey the word they were given?

And I think you hit the nail on the head - it's not so much changing it, but "adjusting it" so that everyone who reads it has the same interpretation - the one the "editor" wants them to have.

I think one could make a good case for slanted interpretation/application, based on historical analysis. After all, look how heavy-handed the Catholic Church was during the dark/middle ages - you do religion our way, or you go to Hell (on some occasions like the Spanish Inquisition, they "facilitated" that little trip, if memory serves).

You know what they say - "History is written by the victors" - for all we know, that may also be true to some degree of religion.

I'm Christian but not Catholic, and I'm not what you would call "devout".

Celebrating his birth? Nope, tradition was to celelbrate his death.

It has even been documented in Catholic doctrines, that Christmas was created to "facilitate the conversions of Pagans." This was because the Pagans had their Solstice celebration at that time of year.

I believe in God and Jesus Christ, but I will not call myself a Christian, the majority of you are dsigusting to me the way you dont respect others, and have closed minds. You say that evolution cant be because we were created in 7 days and all. Way to put human limits on an almighty God.

I'll laugh hard one day, when come to find out the the Earth was some forgotten algae farm of an alien civilization.

As for people in other religeons who have never heard about Christ and what he did for us, they know deep down inside that something isnt right. They can surpress that feeling and live thinking they are doing right, but deep down they know they arent doing right. And even though they dont know what is right, they know arent doing right.

You're Right, Jesus wasn't born in Dec. Probably March or April. What year do you think Jesus was born? Because it was probably somewhere between 6 and 4 BCE(Befor Common Era). And there is vast proof that there was a cencus in all of those years.

End yep December 25 was the celebration of a Pagan Holiday prior to Constantines Conversion to Christianity and Declaration of Christianity as the state Religion.

RELIGION is the Opiate of the Masses. Marx was right about that one. Religion is not much different that NATIONALISM. The basic need that is fulfilled by both is the innate human need to belong. The problem becomes when we fight about you being wrong for this and that. All of the sudden a million people are dead. Religion CANNOT fulfill the need to belong it will always be twisted and corrupted by human nature.

What can't be corrupted is a perfect God wanting to make a way to have a relationship with his creation who choose to sever the relationship by sinning. And that is the thing about humans we are all corruptable. "None is good not one." EVERYONE has their breaking Point, everyone has their price. But not God. That is why Jesus came to show the way to God. "No one goes to the Father accept through me." However, For a human to say what constitutes and what doesn't constitute "coming to Jesus" is absurd. "Abraham believed and it was credited to him as righteouness." it is not for us to say what is righteous and what isn't. How would we know we can't even take care ourselves. God knows, us saying anything else is judgement again not our place. Does that mean I am going to go search for some unknown way to God? NOPE. I am going to stick by the bible. Everything else has me doing all of the work and I know I am not that good. No way I am going to go to this place or that place 3 or 5 times a day to pray when I can pray in my car. No way I am going to give up my sausage and pepperoni Pizza with the real meat. No way am I going to rub my crystal and chant, or drink that cool aide. I ain't perfect and neither is anyone else. The sooner we all realize it and start taking to heart Jesus' way of living ... Meaning Love God and Love you neighbor... the sooner things will turn around.

Will the world ever do that? NOT a chance. Does that mean I should stop getting food to the hungry, clothes to the naked, medicine to the sick and comfort to the hurting. NO!

Now that women in the video... I fell out of my chair laughing. Then I felt bad for her and her family as she obviously has no appreciation for herself to act like that, for the other people, for her family, or the fact that she has four walls and an roof.

If all I every saw of Jesus were people like that I would never want to know more either.
