Hey dude, empty your PM box. I was PM'ing you this:

How's the stroker coming?

Mine is completely assembled. Short block wasn't disassembled, but everything else was, with the new cam, lifters, and Mopar Performace valve springs and seals. The valves were lapped in and every gasket is new, motor mounts beefed up, and fresh paint, plus a few misc new parts. The old motor is 3 bellhousing bolts away from coming out, which I'll do Tues evening.

Any idea how long a knock sensor will last? Wondering about popping for the $50 to get a new one. Same with the starter, I'm still on my original starter at 180k+.

Too bad you won't be at Swamp........ :looser:

:)

Emptied the PM's.

The stroker is fully assembled, I need a day to swap it with the motor I used for mock up, and then the rig will be driveable.

Waiting on a 58 mm TB, should be here today.....

I will miss you guys at Swamp.......

I can help you swing that thing around on friday

BTW, I got the air tube and K&N from XJ Armor. It has a CARB sticker for the '87-90 XJ 4.0L. No more stupid hot air tube. ARB tested the product, determined that the hot air tube did nothing, and passed it......about time! My hat's off to XJ Armor for taking the time to go through that process to help us CA renix guys.

I painted my motor red, so I got the red powder coated air tube.......gotta have a little bit of bling. :)

:nono: Geesh I would of thought you of all people would of know better. Its worth an extra 15 hp to paint it ford blue :)

good news on the carb sticker, now you just need to photocopy it for the rest of us :)

My 91' hi-output 4.0L/aw4 has 205K miles on it and is not far from a rebuild. How much more do you think a stroker package would cost over a straight rebuild? How much do you think a rebuild would cost and where is a good place to take it to rebuild the 4.0L Everyone knows how to rebuild a chevy 350, but I don't know who is knowledgeable in a jeep engine rebuild or would you guys just swap in a low mileage motor/trans from a bone yard? I know this is tech/mod related, but I wanted to know about local shops in Norcal.
