Just saw this jeep driving through walnut creek. Still has the factory lower control arm mounts with the long arms. Sounded like it was running decent. Add says it just passed smog and is tagged. Couldnt be too bad right. Kinda dig the tow tone.

The early ZJ's, 93-95 are junk. 96-98 are the preferred models, with the 98 4.0L with select trac being the most desirable. Well that's my opinion anyways. :lecture:

A good trans does not mean it is a good vehicle overall. The early 93's only had the AW4 and they are mostly gone now. The body and interior were crap, the wiring is bad, leaks everywhere, bad engine mounts, leaking radiators.... The early ZJs do not age well.

Now if you can find a 93 to 94 with an AX-15 that would be cool, still wouldn't buy it. I used to work on one many years ago. The guy special ordered it from the dealership I was working at. Only one I have ever seen too.

My first XJ was an '87 with 27K original miles, one owner. It was just about that clean.

I have regretted lifting and wheeling that rig for a very long time. I sent the guy a message, I'm second in line...

Yep, only cost was tolls to SF to pick it up. Gonna turn that one into a off road only. Just picked up a 94 off CL yesterday for $500 with a blown motor and I'm going to put that 97 engine I had sitting in the garage into it and use it for a DD. The 92 has title issues otherwise I'd drive it. It runs great.
