Couple end of summer runs

We are heading down to SoCal to do the usual tourist thing; Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott's, etc.

This year we are taking our new to us XJ and planning some side trips.

On the 23rd of August we are going to run Rincon Shortcut and then the Santa Clara Divide Road over to Santa Clarita. Probably starting sometime around 10am or 11am.

We will then stay in Ventura for the night and head up to Pismo, Oceano Dunes, the morning of the 24th (sometime around 9am or 10am) and camp out for a few days. We would be leaving the night of the 25th or the morning of the 26th. Depends on if we're ready to kill each other at that point or not

After that we are taking a week to regroup at home then head north to Lassen Volcanic National Park. We are planning on running the Susan River to Juniper Lake trail around Lassen Volcanic National park on September 3rd and possibly the West Prospect Peak Trail on the other side of Lassen.

If anyone wants to meet up with us we'd enjoy the company. One trip to Pismo back in June and my wife is hooked, so hopefully some light trail runs will continue to feed the fire

The brief overview:
August 23rd -- Rincon Shortcut and Santa Clara Truck Trail
August 24th to August 26th -- Pismo

September 3rd -- Susan River to Juniper Lake Trail (Lassen Volcanic National Park)
September 3rd -- Possibly West Prospect Peak Trail after Susan River

Any info on those Lassen trails? I have allways loved that area.

Only what I've read in the Backcountry Adventures book. They're both fairly mild rated trails; Susan River is a 2, and West Prospect is a 1.

My son is at that point where he's really into Volcanoes so I figured while we were there we would try some trips into the back parts of the park most people don't see.
