i just got an xj i want to take the fan of the motor and put in an electric fan because i hear it will help cool it better where could i find one that will fit with the small space in their?
also how much do u think an exhust will cost to put on and what kinda muffler do u suggest? proubly no headers cuz of cost.

There is NO electric fan on the market that I have read where you just swap it out...I am in the middle of doing it on mine and have had to drive out the shaft for the fan pulley and cut the shroud to get it "close"... I am still going to have to "shave" the boss off of the fan pulley shaft area of the bracket.

should tell you everything you need to know.

exhaust is gonna cost me $255

2.50" from manifold through fi-flo cat and flowmaster50 muffler then 2.25" out of muffler to back of Jeep to keep the backpressure up so as not to loose low end torque and midrange performance (doggy)

seems to be a popular choice.

FANtastic idea

I found a 14" reversible slimline HP electric fan similar to some that are sold on e-bay and mounted it on the stock clutch fan shroud. It virtually fitted like a glove and only needed minor trimming of the shroud rim to provide clearance for the mounting brackets. It still left about 1.0cm of clearance from the clutch fan pulley studs so I didn't need to cut them.

Together with the newer style curved blade auxiliary electric fan, there's more than enough capacity to keep my 4.6 stroker cool on hot summer days.
