Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Funny thing is i just installed and alarm two days ago on the new xj. Last night at 230 alarm starts going off and dog going crazy. Go out to check found nothing but fresh foot prints around the jeep. I'm in the springs in stetson hills.

That's where they tried nabbing my sisters.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

On my last jeep I unhooked the small hot wire going to the solenoid on the starter and hooked it up to a push button hidden behind the factory cigarette lighter. Turning the key forward would turn on the ignition and fuel pump but not turn the starter over. So to start you would turn the key on then push the cig lighter in to start the jeep.

clever.

I was trying to remember who's rig I'd seen that in........ Sweet set up for sure!

This takes me back... In high school, my starter solenoid went bad on my kick a$$ 73 Nova. I was poor and couldn't afford a new one so I installed a push button on the dash. Even after I replaced the starter, I kept the button.

Funny part was years later after I sold my Nova. The guy I sold it to didn't drive it much and his apartment complex told him to move it or it would be towed. Well, he forgot about the starter button and had to call a tow truck to move it. He called me the next day to ask if I knew why it would start. I asked him if it made any noise when he hit the button and he said damit!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Unplug the CPS, or put a switch in any one of its wires.

If you have a fuel pump ballast resistor, delete it and replace it with a switch. It will start and run for a few seconds then act like it is out of fuel if the switch is off.

Leaving the tcase in neutral with the lever disconnected is always good fun.

If you have a manual take the shift lever inside with you.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Had to work most of weekend so no work started on my boatsides ,but I did manage to slip by K&K suprplus to grab the 2x8 for them and the 2.5 .250 DOM for my rear drive shaft ...spent $270 after the discount they gave me ...lol...man steel is expensive ...these guys still seem like the best place in town for DIY amounts of steel infact places like Dencol don't even stock Tube only PIPE ... lol...I built my new lower links out of 2x2 .250 it will be a bit funny having a drive shaft that is half inch bigger than them ,but I doubt it will be a concern in the rocks .

K&K suprplus...these guys still seem like the best place in town for DIY amounts of steel

K&K has a decent selection of smaller amounts of tube and different kinds of steel but in my experience they are usually more expensive then some of the other places I have bought steel from. Tube Services in aurora usually has the best prices on DOM

Keep them in mind for added variety ...I paid $ 15/ft for the 2.5 .250 wall DOM and 14/ft for the 2x8 .188 wall rec tube ...then they gave me $40 off the total .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So the lady and I got a call from some folks who knew we were looking for a pup but didn't want to use a breeder, we wanted a rescue.
Turns out we got a bit of both. A breeder for Akitas ran into some issues and abandoned some puppies. I wish we could have taken more, she had another sister and brother that were awesome as well. The parents were beautiful dogs but you could tell the pups were neglected.
This is Nikki once we got her home and washed up. She goes in tomorrow for all her shots and to really clean her up (conditions were disgusting). She's pure Akita and we actually got paperwork on her. Which is irrelevant to us but whatever.
She's loving her own yard and bed, and is giving the lady's cats a run for the money. 12 weeks old. I'm guessing she's at 25 lbs or so.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

nice!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

AWESOME PUP!

Study up on the breed so you can protect her from the mandates of society.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'm familiar with Akitas. Extended family is a big Akita fan so grew up with them around. Was one of a handful we were looking into.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So I knocked my rear view mirror off again yesterday. Used the designated kit previously and it held for a year or two. I like buying in bulk and could not pass up the tube of contact cement sitting right beside it so I got that instead of the kit. But will I be wasting my time?
