Re: The Colorado BS thread

Got home after Two root canals yesterday and had my box of parts from Clayton's sitting on the prorch these were ordered to see how hard it was to weld adapters in without fudging the threads after all the issues i read about on other boards ...my conclusion on that is thoise folks are using nuclear settings for the welding of a relatively small surface area or they are using thin cheap inserts ...lol..because with my Hobart set for 1/4 inch steel I welded the test adapter and New JJ up with no issue then went back and did 3 more passes and still threads as it should the only issue I had was I got lazy tapping in the adapter and used a 3 lb short handle sledge and did not cover the end of the adapter which mild boogered the first thread but still threads easy enough...Now I'm un-decided on the origional plan of just making new arms and using old 2.5 JJ from old arms or ordering new JJ in Left and right hand for easy adjustment ...probably stay with the cheap option ...and besides I've seen the jam nuts get loose and r /L thread would let the arm spin loose if you're not good about checking that stuff all the time...I'm not...

Now the only thing I regret is having filled the gas tank to the tippy top last time i took the out so now i need to move the fuel tank like that ....lol...I hope this 116 WB is not a 10 inch mistake .

Ha! I'm keeping the location a secret. Not 11 Mile. Not Spinney. Not even still water. I'll give you this much. It was in a creek. I happened to be on a motorcycle ride and stopped to rest when I spotted it. There was a guy fly fishing but he was over his head just trying to cast. Rode home. Grabbed the gear. Went back.

Cripes! You sound like Heather. She was gone all week for work and got home Friday evening and the first thing she said was, "I really hate your beard." No I love you. I missed you. Just hate.

Not to go off on a tangent but...I'm a bit fascinated by hair. So the hair on most heads (excluding mine of course) grows indefinitely. Yet arm hair, leg hair (yes I shaved for a long time for cycling...get over it!), hell even pubic hair...knows when it's supposed to stop growing? My leg hair never grew back longer or thicker. Nor did the arm hair. Facial hair is kind of like head hair...it supposedly will grow and grow but may reach a point where it stops. What's even more strange is that on some parts of the face, it grows quicker than others. I think I want to see how long my facial hair can get.

Mother Nature is a like a mad scientist.

You didn't go somewhere and get radicalized, didja?

Why don't you try letting your nails, fingers and toes, go wild too?

Let's not forget those awesome nose and ear hair. Oh yeah, eyebrows too. Why do all of those start growing faster every year? :dunno:

Dude I've always been radicalized. Didn't own a Vanagon for nothing! Duh. I keep my nails trimmed but I don't spend a lot of time doing it and it's strictly the nails. No cuticle maintenance or any of that other crap.

Excellent post Matt. Very thought provoking. I had overlooked the nose/ear hair combo. You never see kids with nose hair sticking out like feelers. Same with ear hair. Perhaps these hairs need to be categorized separately. They appear to be on some sort of time machine growth schedule. Fascinating.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

This is a Brown from yesterday that inhaled a hopper pattern.

Not exactly sure what I'll get into today but I have a general idea where I want to go. Haven't been there for years and caught Brookies back then but we'll see if they're still around.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Notice the arm hair.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

On a crappier note, another reason to never step foot in California

...Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to make it illegal to be in possession of high-capacity ammo magazines, likely setting up a new Second Amendment battle in the Golden State...

People who own magazines that hold more than 10 rounds will have 60 days from the time the law goes into effect to destroy, legally sell or surrender them. Violators will face a misdemeanor charge, The Los Angeles Times reported...

What is this?!?! Russia?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'm sure people will be rushing to the police department. I know I would.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well today I hiked up to a creek I haven't been to in years to see if there were still some fish in it. There were. I have a picture of one of the Brookies I fooled but the Mac is acting up. It's coming. Possibly the most beautiful fish I've ever held.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Behold.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Thanks Matt. I'm still staring at the Brook from yesterday. Can't get over the colors and how different it looks from this Brook I caught 2 weeks ago over in the Collegiate Peaks area.
