Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Zac and I went to the Airstrip Attack, lots of really, really nice cars running a 1/2 mile flat out. Lots of really nice noises. Lamborghinis everywhere. My fav was a metallic blue bling beast with 2300 HP. It did 224 mph. A couple of SRT-8 jeeps there, one with twin turbos. It didn't do any timed runs that we saw. Didn't look quite as zippy as the Lamborghinis running on the far strip. There was a Mitsu with a Boostwerks sticker, I think it ran in the 130's. Quite a few Vette's, a couple of Stang's, a Shelby, a Viper, GTR's one or two of which hit 200 and another hit 190 and blew up, a Caddy or two, Subbies but none of them ran, a Camaro that ran 150 consistently, 3 series BMW that ran 130's, a couple of AMG's, a Civic with a V-6 and turbo nicely shoehorned into it that ran 150's, Porsche's, including a 918 running 170,and a Lambo with a V-12 that had the best sound of all, but didn't run that we saw. Lot's of cool cars downtown tonight, also.

Small world! I believe his best was 154 however.

That's a good friend of mine actually. He's built and raced the hell out of that car over the years and done considerably well. Probably has less $ into it overall than a couple of car payments on those lambos as well.

Her car passed emissions!

I wasn't sure if the ECU was in the "ready for test" mode. I wasn't sure they would put it on the rollers with the airbag light turned on. I wasn't sure we would have plates before the temp expired.

Now, I can spend money on the Jeep. :)

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Wife's Jeep Patriot needs Tie Rods (I Think, I can hear clunk sound over bumps).

Only has 65k?! Worthless...

Any of you want to do it? Other wise it'll go to the shop in a couple weeks.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Dunno that tie rods clunk when going over bumps. They handle right/left steering, but aren't load bearing. If they're loose, you'll get slop in the steering, but not generally clunking on bumps.

Lower ball joints perhaps? Loose/bad struts? I mean, we're talking a Patriot / Neon so front wheel drive right?

Rubber shock bushings.

We got the plates tonight, waited about 40 minutes for our turn. I wanted to put the plates on before we drove home, she did not. When we got home, I found the month sticker was not in the envelope. She was pissed, but she will go back to the courthouse in the morning.

Am I wrong??? :D

In my head, I was thinking Ball Joints.

Yes it is a FWD vehicle.

I guess its going to the shop. Nonsense.

Just proves, every manufacturer has good and bad cars.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well after soaking in PB blaster for a weeks time plus some heat I now have 3 weld on bungs I don't need since I managed to free the sensors without them breaking...going to get the dpf working then going to order a few parts and next time it gives me soot issues I'm completely getingt rid of the Emissions system Egr/Nox/CAT/DPF...lol...just going to be one smooth empty pipe going from the turbo out the back ...then i can idle it as long as i want and run the tuner without clogging the dpf ...sound better as well, F-the EPA !!!

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I don't have any of that stuff on my diesel. 7.3l FTMFW!!!!

The 90% full message has cleared and system ok now reads , but the p1451 Diesel particulate performace still shows on the tuner when pulling codes and the tuner shows the truck going into regen as soon it's driven and up to temp ,so it is doing a regen ,but it just will not stop going into regen I have no codes but the p1451 . I replaced the one temp sensor and removed cleaned my egr valve and cooler which was not really that sooted ...But I do have 154,000 on the truck and dpf I do run a tune every so ften and if I don't find any loose or broken wirining on the system or cracks on my sexcond inspection ,which I found none first look I will assume it's either ash accumulation in the dpf or a sysatem glitch causiing it to call for this constant regen ...So tomorrow I'm going to pull that DPF canister and wash it out ,and run it and see how it turns out...lol...either way I'm getting rid of the dpf ,but if I have to get rid of it this week I'm getting rid of everything from the Tyrbo back the Nox...Cat...and DPF ...lol...then I can run my towing tunes without going into regen out of the Blue .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Dropped DPF looks like new inside I noticed the following while on my back looking at the exhaust system I have no OE muffler and it has certainly been off the truck in the past ...My emissions issue was DPF full out of the blue then it went away instantly leaving DPF performance issue code p1451 and according to my gauge display I'm now in REGEN within minutes of driving and in it as long as I'm driving never comes out until EGT drop Or I put in park ...What I did find when pulling the DPF there was only 3 pieces of gasket on the studs and they don't look OE and a ton of rust on the mating surface hinting it's been leaking at the flange for awhile ...looks like a home made gasket failure by the origional owner that is just starting to leak setting off the DPF code due to pressure inbalance between the pressure tubes pre and post DPF that measure DPF soot fullness by pressure variance ...I think this also probably set off my p242 codes as well since the lack of exhaust flow would not allow the heating up of that pyro at rate it's supposed to ...I was going to make a gasket but I want to fix it one time I love ugrading my Jeep I hate fixing stock things on my Dodge ...Maybe The Dodge is tired of watching the parts pile I've been accumulating for the Jeep for its make-over and is rebelling ...after I fix this I need to get some 35s for it and depending on how it tows ip grade on 35s possibly have 4:56 gears put in basicly if it I can't run the pass at 70 with cruise and 35s on it will need gears ...LOL

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Cleaned the DPF replaced seal unfortunately it was a crappy dealer seal ,but should be good .I then went and checked the Exhaust temp sensors again the first time I just looked at the connectors and the wires going the first inch or so into the conduit ...today I pulled out the multi meter and the # 3 sensor was not showing a reading , so I gave it a small tug and the wores just pulled right out of the conbduit reavealing that both wires had been cleanly snipped not rubbed through or corroded but simply clipped ... anywho put it back together and regens like normal again . Spun the the rears bald as well ...thinking 33-35s ...I guess I'll get the tires and see how she pulls the pass and then decide of I need new gears if I do regear from the stock 3:73 it will be deeper than a 4:10 probably 4:56 ...but shall see if I hate 35s on 3.73s I'm thinking it may suck towing the 8,000k my trailer/Jeep weigh on the big passes.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

why do you have a DPF?

Because I have not bothered to Delete it yet ...I said I would when it failed it's been 4 years and it's not failed yet the only thing it's kept me from doing is running the truck tuned for extended periods due to soot and it quickly going into regen which detunes it to stock until it's over ...I really should get on the ball and Delete a few things EGR/CAT/DPF ...
