The diesel version would be great to have state side. I'm so tired of "America's" general ignorance to the benefits of small displacement turbo diesel engines in cars and small SUV's. My wife's Kia Sportage can be had in other markets with a small turbo diesel, I would love to have that engine in it. Its been a great car with respectable fuel economy, but with a diesel in it that thing would be a road trip king. When I was stationed at Fort Carson a friend of mine had an early 2000's Golf TDI 4dr. She'd drive to Vegas on a single tank of fuel from Fort Carson. It made weekend getaways that much cheaper/easier.
A Fiat 500L with 4wd... no thank you... blech.
No its not, the only thing the two platforms share is the steering rack.
Cherokee is on the compact-wide platform and Renegade is on the small-wide platform.
