Re: The Colorado BS thread

Mike, how hard is it to replace the voltage regulator on one of your Honda bikes? So far I've gotta pull the gas tank (drain it first), battery, ECU, ABS unit (which means I gotta bleed the whole system after), and accessory belt, all so I can pull the generator to replace the regulator inside it. Makes me want to try to find someone who will trade a pile of parts that makes an R1100 for a nice simple FZ6.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Regulator rectifier? Its mounted under tail fairing and takes about 15 minutes to swap..

Re: The Colorado BS thread

So not a single person has showed any interest in the XJ. Not even a scam email. Priced to high? What do I need to do to sell this thing.
Its a very smart/mild build on the XJ. It doesnt scream wheeler or trail rig, but also doesnt scream good DD as it IS a lifted XJ. So your market is limited to people who want a clean, mild, camping rig. HTH :dunno:

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Yeah, I don't know what it is - lots of folks are a bit put off on buying lifted XJ's. I can sell stock XJ's as quick as I can fix 'em, but the 2 lifted ones I've had seemed to take a month or two and those buyers both came to look at them more than once, and both insisted on having them looked over by their mechanic....... :dunno:

Also, tan interiors are a hard sell for some reason. I've got a nice '98 SE stock with the same tan interior as yours that I'll be putting up for sale soon..... not looking forward to all the "man, if it just didn't have tan interior"......

Part of the problem currently is that the market here in Denver and surrounding areas is saturated with lifted XJ's for sale...... have you browsed Craigslist recently using "cherokee -grand" as the search term in "cars/trucks by owner" listings? Good gawd there is a bunch.

So yeah, if you want it gone quickly, pricing is gonna have to grab their attention. I think you're asking a reasonable price for yours..... :dunno:

I see. Just sit and wait I guess.
Yup! I just sold a quality aftermarket intake for an older Ford. It sat for a few weeks, I finally added a list of keywords that included just about any old car put out by Ford/Mercury. A guy with an early Bronco bought it. Go figure...

Re: The Colorado BS thread

If you were to price it in the $3800 range, I think it'd sell quick. Quite a bargain for the buyer though.......

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Another thing prob throwing them off is you stating you replaced the engine. Makes people worry something else is about to go and If your not a professional mechanic, they sometimes worry if it was done correctly.

I personally dont think you are asking too much, but like yellaheep said, people run after a good price tag! If you need to have what your asking, sit on it and someone will buy it.

Good luck with your sale!
