ya i dont think there are any unless flores or DJManche snapped some...

it was a lil bit more than dark out there, but they will testify to how stuck my jeep was...ive never been stuck like that before, and was a very healthy reminder why i hate mud and think mudding is dumb, altho, it was more sandy than muddy...

SO Troy...

An 82 year old guy from Wheat Ridge is being charged with attempted 1st degree murder for shooting at 2 illegal aliens that tried to run him over while stealing his flatbed trailer... who are being charged with nothing.

Opinions?

Uh, yeah there is -- the DA is taking a serious look at the "overcharging" and strongly hinting that the charges will be reduced AND "the investigation into the admitted theives continues" -- sounds like they are getting their ducks in a row. I'm admittedly not a huge fan of prosecutors, and think they have a tendency to work towards convictions rather than justice -- that said, if this old coot gets a jury and his attorney puts on competent evidence that he (1) feared for his life, (2) was on his own property, and (3) was therefore justified in using deadly force (both under the common law and Colorado's statutory "make my day" law), he likely won't be convicted. Sucks they overcharged him to start with, but it sounds like its starting to sort itself out.

and for the love of pete, don't believe everything you read in the MSM - they have an agenda! /rant.

More money than sense............ retarded. I just can't wrap my head around high horsepower, full throttle assaults. But that's probably because I don't have a $60K rig and I can't afford to throw $2000 out the window each time I wanna take it out. You know he's using $50+ in fuel each run..... Plus...... driver and passenger must take quite a beating after a day of that kinda silliness......

Well, for one, I'd be pretty embarrassed to be the Wheat Ridge investigator(s) involved in this case. I don't see how those charges could even be substantiated with probable cause given the fact that it's painfully clear the old man didn't pre-meditate or even act out of bias or hate. He saw a crime being committed against his property and when he went to protect his property, his life was placed at risk.

There's TONS of precedent cases out there just like this one where the homeowner was never charged, and certainly not with 12 counts of "lets stack on whatever could possibly or remotely fit" charges.

I believe this will eventually go away....... but what really pisses me off is that to defend himself in court, its going to cost that old man WAY more than the value of his trailer should he have just let them steal it.

And I'm sorry. If you're in this country illegally...... there should be no expectation for the legal system to provide any assistance/protection to you in any regard. Those two suspects should be deported and consider themselves lucky to be able to see tomorrow.

All kinds of wrong.

Lots of us are familiar with Fat Girl...... posted all over the place. Impressive build, totally rediculous. Nothing but a 500 horse 4-wheeled roto-tiller. No skill or talent required to drive it.

Again, I could do so much more with what it cost to build that thing. Hat-off to him for having the money to do it and not care.

Now, show me a guy with under $10K in a streetable rig tackle that same obstacle....... THAT would impress me. :thumbup:

My buddy with the custom Scrambler length rig on 60s and 42s that I've mentioned a few times before has right around $10k into his rig and could do all of that easy :D
