Colorado B/S Thread

I haven't the foggiest idea on pricing outside of my front axle and tires. I'm not really sure what a chassis is worth. The 302 and AOD are still in the donor vehicle too, not just sitting on the floor. Of course as it sits now it would be easy to just drop a 4.0 back in it and do the AW4 swap. I still have the shifter and an extra AW4. I haven't yet stripped the dash or wiring harness out so the engine would be a snap.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ya id just want chassis. I have the tranny and motor. Just need a shell if reasonable. Otherwise ill just keep the xj.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Shoot me an offer man, I can always get another lawn ornament later on. Right now I'm just focused on the camping/expedition thing. If you want some current pics let me know.

Got a new addition for the shop.
Trading tattoos for it.
Not a scratch on it. Was used for about 3 weeks.

I see nothing there that would convince me I wanted larger, or a different brand of tires.

In fact, I've seen you beating this drum of bigger is better all week now, and I've never needed anything more than the 35's I'm on now, and I only got them because they were the same price as the 33's I originally went to get and they were actually in stock. Wheeling is supposed to be a little challenging. If it's not it's just called driving and any tard off the street can do it.

There is a valid reasoning for bigger tires depending the trails you're doing. Spring Creek isn't one of them. Even so my neighbor has schooled buggy's in his leafsprung YJ on 37" krawlers and 101" wheel base. He's done just about every trail in CO, most all of the trails in Moab, and ran the black hills trails on South Dakota. He still wants a buggy but fact of the matter is his jeep just works and he plain knows how to work it. I got in his Jeep and flopped, so it's not just the jeep either. He has been wheeling the same rig and same setup for years, he knows it and knows how to drive it.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I'll take the '97 behind curtain number two, Monte... FWIW, my passenger unit bearing on my JK D30 took a crap while wheeling :eek:Saturday, though I didn't realize it until after the 180 mile highway drive home yesterday. Unbelievably, none of the bastid local parts monkeys have it in stock, so I'm grounded until tomorrow...
