"CO Chapter is LAME!"

I think most of the MWC will agree, and that is all that matters.

Oh really fool....

I agree, and I was just in Colorado. Nobody stepped up to show me the jeep trails. So I explored fire roads in the Sub. For a huge lumbering beasty, it did quite well... must've been the new H2 rims... chrome and all. Bling bling!

Would have shown you around and taken you fishing but I was in Moab.:D

I suck at fishing, just ask Chris.

I disagree. :nono: The South Platte trout are extremely well educated and have seen it all. Fishing for any species has it's ins and outs. Part of the attraction to fly fishing for me is that trout will inspect a fly and then refuse it if it doesn't drift naturally, it's off by one size, the color isn't quite right, or a number of other quirky reasons. Back home, bass could be finicky but I don't recall there being nearly as many parts to the equation. The day you had was not exactly a Chamber of Commerce one. Wind is the nemesis of fly fishing. It is precisely why I did not take you to Spinney Mountain where you would have experienced the South Park hurricane. In hindsight, prehaps we should have fished some still water where conventional tackle would have been more appropriate. But then you would not have seen the beauty of Cheesman Canyon. Not to mention the fact that you don't fly fish all the time. It is difficult and I get rusty if I take a week off. I have a problem. I cannot stop thinking about trout. I need to either seek professional help or find a job where I can see them and touch them damn near every day. I don't know how she puts up with me.

Sarge - Check out http://secure.naxja.org/html/naxjamemberapp.htm for application info. We should have a thread starting up soon to discuss the quarterly meeting plans alhough there's also a large annual wheeling 'fix' coming up in August that you may be interested in.

What part of Colorado are you in? Ft Carson? We've got quite a few members in the Springs area so you're not alone down there. Most of all - welcome home!

Semper Fi,
Jim

Heh heh, uh yeah, thanks Jim.......... :D

Well, surgically things went as expected. Doc found that the forward part of my Meniscus was torn pretty badly..... had to have several stitches which means 6 FRIGGIN WEEKS OF CRUTCHES WITH NO WEIGHT BEARING ON MY LEG! Then we see where my ACL stands and if I get to start walking with support.

Waking up from surgery was no fun at all. I remember struggling to breathe and having people in scrubs holding my arms against the bed rails. Apparently I had a slight reaction to the anesthetic and it caused some constriction of my throat - got a little combative when they removed the breathe tube. Once they got me breathing ok, I then realize that the nerve blocker they shot me in the hip with didn't take and I was really hurting. After an hour of trial-and-error pain meds, I was finally comfortable. 2 1/2 hrs after surgery, I get to go home. Doc says the elevated heart rate I was experiencing would settle down once all the meds in my system evened out. 12 hrs later, I'm checking into the ER with a rate that hadn't been much less than 120 bpm the entire time. After an EKG, chest x-ray, and ultrasound of my leg to ensure blood clotting wasn't causing the problem, I was given some "adivan" to get some much needed sleep.

I'm feeling a lot better now. I have a constant motion knee machine and an electric cooling wrap that pumps ice water into a pack on my knee - both of which make things nicer. But I'm already really sick of the DVD player and couch! :D

Hopefully I heal quickly and I can get the OK to still make the end of CO Fest as a spectator with a gimp!
