i know someone who's going to be there WITH the rangers and sherrifs tomorrow, who will remain anonymous.

I know. I've heard this before. I've been hearing this since it re-opened sometime back.

Well, I'm going to keep running it until I'm asked not to, or until I see signs that say "NO OFF-ROADING".

Anywho.. I was looking forward to going tomorrow. Maybe I'll put together a Cleghorn run in a few weeks.

Anywho.. I was looking forward to going tomorrow. Maybe I'll put together a Cleghorn run in a few weeks.

Honestly I dont give a rats ass what you do up there, I dont care who youve seen in the past (or thought youve seen) your only gona get a ticket from a LEO or sheriff, and they do have other officers in forest service vehicles as well as volenteers in forest service vehicles and thier own personal ones too, who take pictures and document activites, they also have people who do nothing but look for things online to clue them in on who is doing what and when they will be back. (I know of this because Ive been informed by a friend in the forest service and have been given the heads up that some of our runs and events and accidents (ever wonder why santa's rollover thread got axed) have gained thier attention, and in one case was shown pictures of xj's and asked if I could idenify them)
Dont believe me I really dont care. Im tired of people NOT following the rules and I will gladly help in any way to enforce the rules and hopefully help keep our trails open. I will be out there tomarrow for a few hours escorting LEO's and volenteers new to the area into a few areas they wish to pin point for closure.

Ive tried for a long time to put up with all the shit and attitude some people have given me on here about me trying to share what i hear and help you guys make better decisions, I warned some of my friends weeks ago Ive even offered to introduce everyone who wants to the volenteer program Im a part of so they can see first hand Im not talking out of my ass, yet theres always some ass that wants to call me a name or talk shit about Im not a wheeler im a pig or the fact I wheel a yj now and not a xj gives me no right to be on naxja. At this point I own 1 mj 4 xj's 1 sj and 1 yj and to date have given away 4 xj's to people who wanted to get into the hobby but needed a cheap start, so why does it matter I choose to wheel my YJ at a naxja event?

I ask all of you what are you willing to do to help keep your hobby a viable and legal activity? I know where I stand and if you dont like it kiss my ass.:smsoap:

im with dan dont give the greenies more ammo. wheel legal or dont post about it. like it or not we're not the only ones who read this.

I for one appreciate your efforts to preserve our hobby for future generations. The gawdam greenie terrorists will do anything they can to keep us from enjoying the great outdoors the way we choose. The only chance we have to beat them is to play it straight and follow the laws and rules of parks and such. If you're wheeling illegally and you know you are, then you are the problem. Thank you for doing more than your part to further our hobby.

I was wondering if I was going to hear anyone speak up as I read through this thread! I'm as new as it comes to THIS forum, but have been wheeling for years, and have seen this attitude of "I'll wheel where I want" plenty before & it just plain pisses me off. We just bought my daughter her first car - a 91 XJ, because she's been wheeling with us for years and wants to get into the hobby herself. I'm proud of her, but have taught her plenty about staying on marked trails, not driving off them to keep our lands open. I have shown her pictures of Surprise Canyon & she's bummed she cant run that trail herself because it got shut down, same for Santiago's Revenge in Littlerock. Granted those werent closed by going off the trail, but we dont need more closures because irresponsible people wont obey the law. I'm hoping this group isnt like that and we'll have a good place to come for finding runs when her truck gets built. If this is the norm we'll be looking elsewhere & have no problem reporting anyone we see breaking the law. Yeah we'll take pictures, write down license plates & give them to authorities - I'm sick of a couple idiots ruining it for everyone. Off my soapbox now.

You know what, I DON'T GIVE A F*CK WHAT YOU SAY. Boy, you have a chip on your shoulder and I also really don't care how many volunteer programs you participate in either. Now, that being said...

What's with your attitude?? There is no reason to get pissed off. It sounds like you have some unresolved issues you need to work on. TAKE A CHILL PILL AND CALM DOWN..

I didn't call you any names in the past nor has anyone yet. They might now. I'm sure people appreciate the information you have to pass on to the four-wheeling community. However, when you go off like you did, people get turned off by your attitude.

Plus, I was just stating my previous experiences and what I'm going to continue to do. I do NOT advocate breaking laws and I obey them. As soon as I'm told by the "authorities" or until I see signs prohibiting off road use, I will probably run Cleghorn again.

Please consider a better approach to the situation next time it arises. If you are representing the off-roading community, I think you can have a more positive attitude. No one is condemning your services and I'm sure people appreciate it. So, think about how you represent yourself and how you represent LEO, the sheriff, and the forest rangers. I really think you could serve the local authorities and the off-roading community by having a more positive attitude.

BTW - Proper punctuation help readers better understand what your saying.

Hey Dan I applaud your efforts to helping promote your beliefs. I am glad that someone will stand up for their personal beliefs, and to help promote the SAFETY of the wheeling community. Your efforts with the foresty service are commendable. More people should help and volunteer to keep the offroading community safe and eductated. I for one (now that I am expecting my first child) want to do what it takes to keep the trails open and learn the more responsible way to do things to so that my child and I can wheel together for many years!.

Dan I am gonna build you a stonger soapbox to stand on! Maybe more people will listen!

Thanks Buddy,

BTW I have never seen a chip on your shoulder!

Plus, I was just stating my previous experiences and what I'm going to continue to do. I do NOT advocate breaking laws and I obey them. As soon as I'm told by the "authorities" or until I see signs prohibiting off road use, I will probably run Cleghorn again. Great you didn't get caught! Neither did I, but now that I have been informed about the rules, which you can verify on different websites, and I have, You wanna be a dumb ass and continue that go for it! Your ticket and I hope you loose your ride!

Please consider a better approach to the situation next time it arises. If you are representing the off-roading community, I think you can have a more positive attitude. Hamster Nipples! Love the screen name! The majority of the people on this forum portray absolutly the best qualities of the four wheeling community. There are some asshats that don't care and well best bet form your own opinions of those that you see on here, but for the most part everyone is all about what is right! Joining this group has been one of the best things that I have done, the people are great and know how to have fun and put up great advice.

Don't let a couple of people blowing off steam detour you from joining. We do it from time to time and that is what makes it great!

Ignorance?? I am going to assume you are referring to the topic at hand, because ignorance means that someone is not informed or has the lack of knowledge. Do not feel sorry for me, unless you intended to be condescending, which, I am going to assume that you intended not to be.

Dan, please try to understand that I am not attacking you or your cause. However, it is offensive to some people when a person starts with, "Honestly I dont give a rats ass what you do up there..." and "... if you dont like it kiss my ass.:smsoap:"

So, I am sure you will find that people, including myself, are open to information regarding OHV areas and efforts involving our hobby when approached in a non-offensive manner.

As far as erik's response to me, it was simply an attack. I do not know who you are nor do I want to know. I really don't think you want to get into a pissing contest. Honestly, I am just going to ignore everything you wrote, which would be the best option.

I love all of you.

:D

I am getting a beer, Matt can I have a bite of your popcorn when I get back...

Also with the comment to the ignorance of not knowing wether a trail is legal or not, alway assume it is not legal unless posted as such. If there is ever a concern simply call the forest service, they are more than happy to tell you wether a trail is legal or not. They will also inform you if there is an intermittant closure due to weather or fire conditions.

Just my .02 cents worth.
