UWHARRIE NAT'L FOREST
Here's my .02:
Uwharrie can be fun to wheel IF it is wet. In early July, thats a mighty big if... Even then, I've seen woody run it wet in a stocker and I ran it wet locked rear on 32's.
Most of you who suggest Uwharrie are close to it and have been there at least several times.
People who live further away and would be driving 4+ hrs to the Crawl would most likely be disappointed with the wheeling in the likely event that it's bone dry and dusty.
Uwharrie is simply not a wheeling 'destination'. It is a state park that mostly serves local people i.e. within 2 hrs drive time.
We should definitely look at setting up a M&G weekend some other time but not for the crawl.
I agree that DPG is a lot of fun for an afternoon too. I hate the idea of burdening another club to operate our club's annual event.
All that said; if the crawl were to be held at Uwharrie, I would probably come for Sat & Sun. I just couldn't justify taking time off work to go there.
