Well I am stuck! I need new gears for my D35 rear yep, go figure huh. Well I need 4.10 , 4.11 for the 3.73 where do I go for cheap gears just to get me through tell I can build a D44 or does anyone have any they want to sell please help. Thanks again.

Josh,
Instead of putting new gears in, replace the entire axle. I realize you've got a D44 waiting to be rebuilt, but in the mean time get your fanny down to A-1 and pull a used axle from one of the XJ's. They charge $100 for an axle. It will take about 30 minutes to yank one.

Compared to the cost of another set of gears and the time/money to swap the gears...well it's really a no brainer.

X1000. Do not waste the time on a temp axle, just slap another one in and save you money. Surely someone has a spare D35 laying around. I sold mine for $50. I thought I was ripping the guy off. I was just happy it was gone. Post up in wanted.

man I'd do that in a heartbeat just to go from 3.07 to 3.55's. Cheap way to run 31's.

FN jeep parts in Colorado Springs has a rear Dana 35 for $250. I had considered it for my XJ, but am holding out till I can find a D44.

That is highway robbery. There is no D35 worth $250 unless it was locked and regeared. I wouldn't want to run it but for $250 what the hell. But a plain D35 for $250??? Ridiculous. You can go to the junk yard and get a 8.25 for $90.

Josh check your PMs and give me a call

should be a tag on the rear, but the autos are usually 3.55 and the manuals 3.05 or something like that. For me 3.55 would be great for 31" tires and a cheap way to regear.
Let me kick it around and see how much hassle the things are to swap in, I might take 'em off your hands.

on one hand I'd really love to regear a little lower, on the other I just got done putting a 3" lift on and know what a hassle it's going to be to swap axles :)
