Chapter run to Hollister Nov 5th

OK, Im going. I will be coming down after my SATs on Sat. Hopefully I will be there at 4-430pm. Some of my friends will be there, one with a 85 white 4runner on 35s and a green CJ5 on 35s as well.

Big Red, There is an air up place at the ranger station. Im fairly sure there are hose hook ups by the obsical course, but I dont think it will be all that muddy. Did it rain a lot down there? You might bring your own hose just in case though.

Edit: I have a white 2door Cherokee with Peeling Goodyear stickers in the windows.

See you there. I got the adapters to get my air hose to hook up to my adj regulator so I should have air with me. I would just like to wash off the Jeep before heading back to Sac. It will be dark anyways so hopefully the cops will not notice it that much. :laugh3: I live in a anal gated townhouse community so they don't like me washing off my Jeep in the driveway.

There is air at the ranger station just to the right where you pay.
There is a watter hose in the motercycle park, ask at the ranger station.

If you have never been there or not in the last year or so it is now $5 for a day pass, more to camp and if you think you are going to go alot you can get a year pass for around $50.

Or you can try to sneek in and risk the $65 fine and then get kicked out. :wierd:

Also from what I have heard the rangers are not as nice as in the past. Seems like after the drunk kid rolled his TJ in the obistical corse, broke his friends arm and went into a coma, they are really cracking down on some of the stupid stuff. Some of the new Rangers will even hide in the woods and spy on you looking for you to do something wrong. Most of the Rangers that work there are VERY cool the type that got that job to play in the dirt all day long, but I think one or two of the new ones did not make it as a cop so they are there to put people in jail.

It will be dry and sunny this weekend according to the weather report. It didn't rain enough yesterday to even get the ground wet :sunshine:

I heard the area is bigger or going to be in the near future. Has anyone been there lately? You don't need a orange flag on your Jeep right? I think just the Badlands in Indiana makes you do that because there aren't seperate areas for vehicles, just a general area for quads, bikes, and 4x4s.

See you there Chris around 10, I'll bring the tires/rims. Are you sure you cannot wheel just a little bit? :)

Nice! Thanks for the update. Now I need to get my lazy butt off the computer and get busy!

Well, have fun ya'll. It should be a pretty decent sized group. I won't be heading down due to a family obligation, and prep work on the rig for JV... Look forward to the pics.

Everyone have fun. I have an old friend whose dauhter is getting married tomorrow and then a Church dinner.

Was at PicknPull in San Jose today and the ground was dry & dusty so don't believe Hollister will be much different.

Have fun, I hate missing out

Take care,
Tom

HAHA well I fooled all of you!

I am going now, and no I am not riding with FarmerMatt. It seems that happens more often than me actually wheeling. :gag:

I will be running behind all you guys though. I am leavin Fresno at 9. that will put me there some where around 10:30-11. I am shootin for 10:30, got the radar installed today. Also scored the disconnects, and someone to split gas with. I got the really cool handheld CB ready so I should be set.

Bryan, since you are kinda heading it up, which way you going first? That way I can play catch up if need be.

Matt

Got my Jeep all loaded up, and ready to go tomorrow. Tonight I got F@%$!@ during my football game and can barely get in and out of the Jeep. I think Im going to have to back out. Have a good weekend guys.

Just saw this. Good to hear you are going to make it. There are a few different places where we will be heading. Just depends on the group. A few good places to look are Tank Traps, and 2 unmarked trails know as "rut" and "bitch", this last one is also known as the jungle trail. Also the very top of Hollister hills will be a destination, and we will most likely have lunch in the sycamore camp area around 1-2.

See you there! Oh, and be sure to ask for a park map at the ranger station.

Thanks Bryan for organizing this run.

Good run. It was nice to see people again and meet a few new people.
I bent another RE LCA. That's three now, in three runs.

Thanks Bryan, Skipper, and the other gal, I don't know your name, but thank you so much for getting my alternator in so that I could get home. Thanks for spending 2-3 hours on removing the dead alternator and installing the new one. After that I made it home with no further problems. I owe you guys big time.

what a great time! I enjoyed getting to see some new people and hanging with some old pals (no pun intended :laugh3: )

I didnt even take one picture this trip.

Things I learned...

Phils bottom side looks pretty abused :wierd:

People get a funny look on their face when you tell them you have a total of 700 miles on the jeep you are taking through the trails.

The mini rubicon is stupid hard.

and lastly, open differentials front and rear dont belong on on trails that need at least one locker.

Thanks to everyone who came out. We had a great turnout this weekend. Plenty of excitement and fun was had by all.
