Cash for Clunkers, 4.0 kill video

Yup, another brilliant program........ :rolleyes:

I know a family basically living out of an old '75 Caprice........ Now THAT carb'd V8 is a polluting clunker....... I'd love to have seen them get any of those SUV's they destroyed. Safer, more efficient than their current POS..........

Anything to put more money in the pockets of the car companies. Even if we have to pretend it's better to scrap a good car from a wealthier individual, than an unsafe pos that someone poorer has to drive... as long as the money goes to the folks who've proven they don't know what to do with money, it's considered a success (and they aren't sure we even have the money to give to them!). Bah. This whole program seems counter-intuitive.

Who is it that has the sig about the republic being safe only until the leaders realize they can bribe us with our own money?

I've taken two to the junkyard and didn't feel bad about either one. However I parted them out and took them to a place where at least the parts could end up in someone elses XJ's

This is pretty sad..

I guess the way I try to make sense of it all is comparing it to dogs. I love dogs and I wish everybody did as much as I do, but in the end, the animal shelters are full of strays, and you just can't save them all; hundreds get euthanized every day no matter how many you may try to save.

There is a little difference. When a stray dies they burn the body. At least with a vehicle they could have a chance to get used by others from parts in a junkyard...at the very least.
 
In my opinion its the "sheep" that are the problem, when I say sheep I mean all the people that feed into this type of solution for our economy. If people would live a little bit more humble and conserve what we have available we wouldn't be in the situation that we are in. The sheep have been trained to believe whatever the government/hollywood/T.V says to be the best is the best. People really need to take a step back, think for themselves and look at the big picture before they jump into the newest program available. Personally I don't point the fingers at the leaders of the country I point it at all the sheep. All it takes is people refusing to participate and voicing their opinion to maybe try a different program that makes sense.

For the record im not a political person and im not really a supporter of any leader out there.

that is the greatist news i think i have ever herd in my intire life. wonder if people grew a brain and figured out that keeping thier car is smarter than buying a new one.
