Does it have anything to do with gunning the engine? In the original video they just let it idle, I think.

We did some each way, 2000 RPM is what is recomended, but how fun is that? The Video of the red Jeep is also being held on the rev limiter. I am the one in the black Jeep.
 
i just dont see a point in destroying vehicles like that... i noticed the LIST of cars for clunkers is what? 90 and newer? what about the older cars? we need to eliminate cars that cant pass the california smog laws or are gross polluters.

thats what they need to do... send them thru a smog test if they fail, trade them in, but if they still run good and dont pollute the air, why crush them? i'd like to think my xj will pass smog w/o a problem... then you would think the state would try and make money off the clunker cars by stripping the parts and selling them to a market for used parts... so someone who has a good running car can buy the part when needed. and i can put money on it that my dad's 71 chevelle will run better and cleaner than most newer cars and its still carbbed

idk i just dont like the idea of crushing the cars, just like i didnt like the idea of crushing the street racers cars... next will be 4x4's that are modified illegally
 
im worried about what this is going to do to the used car market, no more picking up cheapo parts jeeps when they can run em into the dealer and get at least three grand for em.
 
I agree, a lot of people don't want payments, so even with what they are given they still cannot afford a new car.

My parents wanted to trade in their explorer, but they want a truck and thats a no go.

wow, I thought this program was for older clunkers... so far I've seen a bunch of top notch used cars.

for those of you wanting to get $4500 for those cars, bring them up here and put them at the end of my driveway.
you take a car from the south, no winters with salt/sand rusting out the floors/body and try to sell it up here, it'll be gone in no time... especially those newer cars... shit I'd give ya $6k for that Volvo easy.

seriously, I'd have no problem taking your hand me downs, if they look like those cars.
