Build thread: Out of Misery, again...

Well, not a very productive weekend, I only had time to get my knuckles off and ball joints out and the first coat of primer.

Other than that I worked on the red jeep and drank a lot of beer with some great friends. Oh yeah, Manson was better than Cooper, and the Manson freaks were worth making the trip for. I'd post the pics I got but they're real close to not being family friendly. ;)

And you helped me swap my window and cut off my exhaust...

I didnt see any real freaky people where we were, just a guy wearing a dress and a REALLY butch lesbian couple. Must of been better where you were, You wouldnt answer your phone :poke:
It was fun.

Sounds like it is gonna be one good party for the gear install. Exactly which day is it? 12th or 13th

well, it's been a few minutes since I updated this, I attended the crawl over the 4th weekend and then to Club R for gears, so there hasn't been a ton of work done, but here's what I've done...

still spending money, bought some daylight.

I still need to put a plate on the lca mounts, but I did some bracing on the upper side of the lca mounts. This will help a ton.

getting ready for the motor install, got the motor side of the mounts on. VERY sexy...

got my gears installed, and my Yukon Zip installed, thanks again to Seth and Mac for the quality work and the clean work space. :D

Also got my sye installed, you've all seen pics of an sye, but I'd bet you've never seen how to make your drill into a lathe. This work so well that I will do it again if needed.

I also added something to this jeep that did not come from the factory, all the t-case linkage. I wanted to get this in before the tranny and case got in the way.

got a few more things done today. I wasn't moving very fast with it being so f'n hot today.

got the motor set in and the crossmember in. This is the easy part, a lot of work to do to convert the 98 motor into the 01.

decided to get my rear bumper out of the way, I've been stepping over it for several weeks. I'm very happy with my Logan's Metal bumpers

this is a bad ass hinge idea. why isn't everyone doing this?

How is your hinge working out so far on your bumper dan? I have been wanting to build a rear tire carrier bumper for mine for a while and that seems like a good and strong design for the hinge. Mite be what i do to mine.
