Build thread: Out of Misery, again...

Build thread: Beat Ass Flamer #2...

Nice, now if you would just change your avatar back....

Re: Build thread: Beat Ass Flamer #2...

I'm liking the name change. Haha

Any new updates on the build?

Re: Build thread: Beat Ass Flamer #2...

Name change is temporary, ;) .

I work 55 hours Sunday/Wednesday, nothing happens during that time frame.

I will be finishing the 30 this weekend to prepare for gears, I also hope to get my h&t done and maybe the t case shift linkage.

I also need to put a radiator, wheel bearings and rear shocks on my red 98 so I can continue to use that as a dd.

...and I'm going to see Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson this weekend.

I will catch up on sleep when I die.

Re: Build thread: Beat Ass Flamer #2...

I would love to see Alice Cooper! Have a good time with that!

Re: Re: Build thread: Beat Ass Flamer #2...

I'm looking forward to Manson more.

Alice cooper rode in my xj...3 times. We talked about golf and fire. My mom was jealous...

Also, as far as a hack n tap goes, its very easy to do them with the shaft disconnected and the motor running, case in 2wd and tranny in gear. Though I've never done one with the iro tool...so that may not eve make a difference

Re: Build thread: Beat Ass Flamer #2...

I'm going to do it while the case is out of the jeep. Not so much the hacking, but the drilling is a real pain from under the jeep.

thats a very good plan...it wasn't bad under a lifted right, but i was very nervous about breaking a bit. i bought a brand new split tip bit to do the job and it was a good choice. i've been known to be a little heavy handed when it comes to drilling holes in metal...i am a little impatient at times :)

:lecture:

the lathe style cutting/chamfering worked perfectly... i think i did mine in 4L and reverse. tapping was simple enough. but the drilling... ohhhhh, the DRILLING. jesus, even with a new bit it must have taken me, what? 5 hours? i meant to go slow (was a little scared tbh), but not THAT slow.

you might not be as flexible as me dan...
