No they are in there real good with fiber glass. I have a set on my garage floor. No bondo. Very solid.

They must have fixed that issue then because the ones on my buddies WJ were like Ryan said.

Must have. There was a video some where of them running their flares over in a jeep and they didn't crack it break. I thought that was cool.

I saw that. They are tough no doubt. He got hit by two cars in that thing. The front bumper took the brunt of one impact and the Honda got owned with just a little paint missing on the bumper of his Jeep. The flares fell off a couple times though.

They bolt on at multiple points per flare. It would be weird to see them just fall off without major damage to the fender. The instruction also recommend attaching the seems with bondo but I say eff that and I'm just going to seal them with clear silicone.

The plan was to get my motor set into the jeep this weekend, however I didn't get my hack n tap jig in time so I went on to the axles, starting with the rear.

I'm not a professional welder, but I think this looks kinda sexy. I self taught my welding 'skills' with help from www.weldingtipsandtricks.com , a great site to learn some basic techniques.

Finished product waiting to cool for some primer/paint.

did you use the sandblaster on the axle? that looks clean as hell...that would have taken years with a wire wheel

Fir now I'm keeping drums. I understand that disc are better, but I've always had drum brakes and have survived. Besides, I need things to do after the build.

Funny you asked, yes. I'm surprised no one else noticed. They are already welded.

I wouldn't. At least not to the center of the axle. I did on mine and with only 5-6 in of lift I can't find shocks that have enough travel.

I'm moving them up a bit, no more than an inch or so. I've gone to the center before and regretted it.

Ya I got to put new u-bolt eliminators on my jeep. I'm pretty sure I'm going to redo the shock mounts at the same time.
