Buckin Tattoos. ink by Buck.

For my left arm/bicep

"Americans can sleep peaceably"
Zombie/Skeleton Soldier in DCU's carrying an M249[IMG]
"because US Soldiers stand ready"
OIF 06-07

Show me what you come up with. :D
Nevermind. I understand now.
I'll get it drawn.
What about. In peace. Instead of peaceably?

Thats fine, I already butchered the hell out of the original quote to make it more fitting for a tat anyways. Its supposed to be, "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

Its a quote from George Orwell, the author of Animal Farm. A group of us modified it to read, "The American people sleep peaceably in their beds at night because US Soldiers stand ready to do violence on their behalf". It was something of an inspiration piece I guess. I always liked it.

I'll work with it. See what looks best.

I am a little worried about the gun you want.
It's going to be very hard the get all the detail in.
Do you mind if I simplify it a bit?

Also. I have another tattoo you may want.
It's an eagle with a US flag on one wing and a pow Mia flag on the other. And it says all gave some. Some gave all.

It would make an awesome tattoo!

That would be cool.

I'll try to get my rough (and I mean rough) sketch of what I'm describing back from a friend of mine. I'd sketched it in a notepad while flying back from Iraq, I'd given it to him a few years ago to redraw into something a tat could be made from as he is a good artist. I have yet to see a final product. I've been wanting this one for years now.

The signifigance of the M249 is that its the weapon I carried in Iraq.

I look forward to seeing it man, thanks.

That looks really great Cody.

If you're interested in doing something else similar to that Bettis artwork....... I'd be willing to pay a more than fair amount to have a 2-photo blend piece done. Nothing huge - maybe bigger than 8.5"X11" sheet of paper but not poster sized..... It's essentially an old photo of my grandfather leaning up against his '46 Olds when he first bought it and a photo of Olds as I have it today - thinking of the old photo done in the upper left background, and the new photo done in the lower right foreground kinda thing..... if that makes sense - kind of a then and now theme......

Thank you! It was 10 hours of drawing and color on an 8.5x11
Sheet of paper.

I could try my hand at it!!
Post up the pics and I will see what I can do.

Here's the two photos I have. The first is a polaroid so it ain't gonna get much better. I'd need a better scanner to get the second one done in higher than 300 dpi.

I could supply a better "head shot" of my grandfather if needed to get the facial details better on the first photo.

The contrast I'm looking for is to show the age of the first photo into a better clearer detail of the second..... almost like the first is a memory past, and the second is the present if you get my drift. The background could be changed to anything - not looking to keep the building or the house in it.

Wow Troy, I knew you were old but I didn't realize you were old enough to have worn the red polyester pants to work. :D

Hey Cody, here is that rough (and I mean rough) sketch I did on the flight home from Iraq. Bear with it, I am no way an artist when it comes to drawing.

Lol. Yeah. I'm still working on it but it won't be as complicated as your sketch.
That's Alot to stuff into one tattoo.
I'm gonna work with it and see what I can come up with!

Do what you've got to do man, I have faith. Upper body only, boonie hat instead of kevlar, DCU's, and maybe put the M249 underneath him instead of in his arms. Zombie/skeleton aspect for sure. And the simplified text as previously discussed. Just ideas man.

For me the most important aspects are:
DCU's
Zombie/Skeleton
M249
OIF 06-07
And the simplified quote we already discussed.

Other than that, just roll with it. :D
