Oh, Boyd definitely did give Chip his break. But they grew apart over the years, and became rivals.

Boyd had a feud going with Chip Foose. And Chip probably thought that Boyd was an ass. But I betcha Chip will be at the funeral to pay his respects.

I wonder however if Boyd would have gone to Chips funeral if the situation was reversed.

Something tells me maybe not.

I called his comment 'classy' then posted a picture of a guy who fell off a horse and eventually died from it, with the caption 'Get off your high horse"

Always sad when anyone dies that young. I was never a fan though, it always seemed to me that he took really nice cars and overdid them. His style is too glammy and overstated for me. And to know him from the show is to know him as a self-centred, uninsightful, disrespectful boob. I can't imagine he would have been too different in real life...

A joke you have to explain....just isn't that funny.

You can't judge him from the show, thats TV and Entertainment. I never saw boyd DO anything on the show, Foose on the other hand actually DID something and was not an asshat about it. I would watch Boyds show if nothing else was on while channel surfing. Maybe Boyd was something 'back in the day'.
Either way he did contribute to the custom car crowd and will be remembered.

I saw him pick up a hole saw once. Drilled the hole for a steering column in the wrong place. They just patched up the hole and moved on. Right there I figured he should stay in the office and design cars while someone who knew what they were doing built them.
