Bought a New Gun This Weekend

I don't know how the pigs are where you are but a .45 won't take them out. You need the .44 mag or the .500 or other mags to get through their skin where I hunt and you better hit them in the neck or the head because even a .44 mag won't make it to their heart (I've hit them there multiple times without them going down).
Yikes... I have seen a charging wild boar and I would not want to be hunting them with a handgun: no matter what caliber!

What I was referring to though was non hunting activities (as that's what this thread somewhat loosely revolves around).

You drink tea? Not a very manly drink for a raging gun nut like yourself. :D
Didn't you know that is what all us gun freaks drink. :laugh3:

Made a beliver out of me. As far as .22 killing a lot of people it's because they used to be common in street crime. You can find old data that shows a .25 Ravan killed a lot of people when they were popular.

:bs:Your own posted source said there is no data that was recorded to support and of your above statements.

A nice sized gun that fits the hand and shoots great is the S&W Sigma series. I shoot a .40 caliber with a 165 grain. The groupings are better than the 185 grain. I have only found 185 grain hollow points, though. To the original poster, try shooting some 165 grain loads in the .40 caliber.

All I wanted to do was share my joy of buying a new hand gun. I didn't expect to launch a 5 page debate. Honestly it's kind of sad.

Meh, sorry dude.

And if I lived in the area, I'd be happy to plink with ya anytime. Enjoy the new purchase. (When it comes in due to the socialist republic of Kalifornia)

Anywho, seriously, my next hangun is going to be an XD. They are mighty fine weapons. Lots of the guys here on base use them as civillian carry pieces (in all 3 calibers). (Duck and cover from Stumpy)

Yeah, well..... I guess that is off-topic for ya. Nothing stays on topic for long in here. So did you pick it up yet? Went to the Vallejo gun show today. Not much going on in the way of handguns. Lots of nice long guns though.

When I was stationed in Hawaii we had to go up to the transmitter stations in the mountains for maintenance on them. I became very fond of both the 12ga M37 and M14 against wild pigs.

No because I live in the socialists republic of Caliornia my 10 day waiting period is over on Tuesday.

it is! I haven't bought a lot here. With a ccw you just have to fill out paper work so it takes even less time. Come out to the AZ event and I'll show you my toys.
