Bob's Place?

Depends on the amount of rain. If its a downpor yeah, it gets way to slick to wheel safely out there. if its just a light sprinkle like last sunday he doesnt fuss about it.

I am heading out there in the morning. Sorry you can't make it, Bryan.

Awesome time.

AirForce_XJ breaks on Lower Hells. Chris can tell you more.

Sorry about the crappy cell pics. I left the digital camera at the casa.:patriot:

There are some trails, I dont know about all day. I am still exploring his 7 acres. But it seems that a good 4 hours of the day can be used pretty good.

To my carnage...... I will post pics later. Got dark before i could finish the Heap. I sheared/exploded the drivers side U-joint, JB weld wouldnt even look at this thing and say " ehhhhh maybe". It could have been worse But was still bad enough to the point wear i had to limp home at 25MPH. Good news is, Kelly had a spare axle shaft he was kind enough to give me. (Kelly I will get a new one ASAP)
I got the new axle shaft and all put in. But Should be driveable again tomorrow. striped a damn bolt on the drivers side TRE. if it one thing.....

I know some of you guys are new to this wheeling thing. Just one word of caution, do not drive on a broken front axle shaft even if it just a few feet. If the u-joint or the ears of the shaft failed and you are still driving this sets up a potential disaster. The ears of the shaft can catch each other and break your ball joints, once that happens your knuckle and wheel will come off. I know people who carry spare ball joints just because of this. So either replace the shaft right then and there, or just pull the inner section of shaft out and leave the broken off stub shaft in place to keep your unit bearing from coming apart while driving.

Looks like fun, I will try to make it out next time.

I noticed the chew marks on the knuckle when I got home. Lucky it wasnt a long drive (maybe 8 miles plus a little). I will make sure i have the tools in the rig for the next run. Still gettin all my trail stuff together.

Chalk this one up to being inexperianced and unprepared. :looser:

Pics will be up tomorrow.

Yeah, I was lucky it didnt chew up the knuckle to bad. I made sure to check it before i put the new axle shaft and all back in.

No, you are lucky that the inner shaft did not ride up on the stub and knock your knuckle OFF, sitting on the side of the road OFF.

That too. but it was a chance i had to take, was a short ride home, and now I will make sure to have the parts and tools next time around.

Damn it! I new I should have tried to get out there! Oh well. Now I'm home hoping to make Moab in a few weeks.

No worries JumpMaster. I am out till I drop My tranny and replace my slave cylinder. Atleast you will be able to hit MOAB, I cant even drive through puddles on the road with out a push.

Met a guy last night, Jeeper John when i was in Rio Vista. He's got a trricked out CJ7 he's trailer out to Bob's in the morning. I told him I was going to try to get out there, so I should be wheeling tomorrow. Hope I don't break a drivers side axle shaft, cus I'll be out of luck.

Maybe I'll be the first guy to make it through lower hells on 31's.:gee:

 You'd better not break a drivers side axle shaft. That would be shitty! I will be going to PnP on the first so I will snag one then. If you hit hells canyon on 31's I will be Highly impressed.
