Big Bear - July 20th thru 22nd

This is definitely going on!

There will be a major announcement tomorrow evening for the weekend!

Stay tuned!

Just to be clear, there will be wheeling on Saturday. Meeting at the Big Bear Discovery Center at 8:30 AM. There will be at least 2 groups: one moderate run - Gold Mtn, maybe John Bull. one difficult - Deep Creek and Holcomb Creek. If there is other interest, then we can even have a 3rd group as long as there is a leader for it.

Then re-group in the evening for the party. I will send out the addrss once the plans are solidifed.

Lots of folks will be spending the night somewhere in the Big Bear area. There will be optional runs on Sunday, so meet at the Discovery Center at 9:00 AM.

Thanks

Hey gang,

I am working on details for the cabin(s) today.

There will be several folks coming up on Friday afternoon/evening.

For those who are coming either day, please reply and let me know when you plan on arriving, where you plan to stay, and how many people are in your party.

We want plan for food and such. If you can bring food or help with set-up or serving, please let em know that as well.

Thank you all

how does big bear work...?

do you need regestration? green sticker? or will a non-opp rig be ok?

Is trailering acceptable?

Looks like I'm going to try and make it for Saturday's run! I gotta give the Jeep some TLC before then, but I want to test out the new locker....it's been on now for some time and I haven't even gone offroad.

Trailering is fine. There is a place to park the trailer right by the cabin!

The forest is GREEN STICKER!!! Not sure if registration or insurance matters.

Maybe a couple of the other guys will chime in more info. You can always call the forest service or look on their site.

Hope to see you up there!

you will need at minimum a green sticker to be legal on some trails, basicly big bear is street legal friendly and almost none of the green sticker trails are connected so unless you have the trailer follow you around to get to the next place you run the risk of a ticket and impound for lack of insurance

Anyone know if theres camp fires allowed at Crab flats or any Camp ground this time of year? Just wondering because it is soo dry.
most likely it will be a day by day determination, I remember a few years back they cut out camp fires anywhere in the forrest including camp grounds. best advice is to call the local ranger or fire station and ask
