Best trim/emblem adhesive?

The JEEP logo fell off my hatch.........again. I was using some 3m trim adhesive before, but it might have been old and maybe a little thicker than it should have been......

So, I'm on a quest for the best trim/emblem adhesive so I can get this to stick for longer than a few months!

Thanks!

Go to a good auto parts store and get 3M Emblem and Trim adhesive. It's made exactly for the purpose. It stays stuck. It resembles Shoe Goo and similar consumer products, but it's thinner, so it doesn't stand out or lump up, and allows for a little adjustment while still having enough tack to avoid sagging.

Ok. I noticed that origional emblems and stuff are held on by some adhesive tape (double sided flexible-type tape)

Is there any benefit to using this rather than an adhesive in a small bottle? A disadvantage I see would be not able to cut out the intricate designs necessary like each letter....

In my experience with old XJ's losing their trim piece by piece, I'd say no to the tape. I've had just about all the door trim and roof rack strips fall off of a couple and had to glue it back on. I think you just need a nice new tube of 3M (sorry, for some reason I missed in your original post that you already had some of that...). It shouldn't be stiff and lumpy.

"Shoe Goo" also works. It's similar to the 3M stuff. Cheaper too. You can get it at shoe stores. It is designed to stick well to things that virtually nothing else sticks to, like old boots and dirty sneakers. The only problem with that is that it's a little stiffer, and tends to get very stiff with age. Once it gets stiff it loses its ability to adhere well.

Yes, I've used Shoe Goo before (on emergency shoe repairs, not a vehicle). I do have some of that as well as JB weld.

When I bought the Jeep the rear Jeep logo was missing actually, had to find another and put it on :)
