Best Sliders?

Does anyone know if the JCR's will work with RK longarms? They list several other LA brands on their site, and for the price they seem well worth it vs. building my own.

Im sure, but just give them a call they'll be willing to help you out.

Like I said I have the JCR front bumper and that thing is BEEFY. I actually got into a wreck the other day and it saved me. The other car is a different story but there is absolutely ZERO damage to my Jeep.

That is one of the main reasons I want to armor my Jeep! :D

I love my Rusty ones

have had them about a year they do awesome they attach to the pich seam and the frame rail also to the rear spring perch. With like 20 bolts per side.

My AJ's sliders saved my XJ from a teenage driver just last week, the same cannot be said for her front bumper which broke like a Christmas tree bulb ornament. She made zero compensation for a patch of ice going into a turn and slid right into me. :shiver: You get emotionally invested into a vehicle doing mods and what not and its great to know you have some measure of protection from inexperienced/careless drivers.

I have AJ's super rails. He is stocking them as far as I know. So they ship right away, plus they were a lot cheaper to buy and to ship. You have to paint them yourself, but buy a can of primer and a can of paint, (I used lawn furniture enamel) you got maybe 15 bucks and an hour of time invested.

They won't work with RK longarms. I just installed a set of RK longarms, and I had to pull my JCR stage 2 sliders off. I'm just going to cut off the forward mounting arm, and slide it back about 6" so it doesn't interfere with the RK mounts.

The other problem I had is that I also added TNT frame stiffeners, so now I have to pull 3/16" out of both arms because they won't reach the pinch seam now. I thought about just cutting off the mounting plate (3/16") and welding the sliders to the stiffeners, but I like the plate for load distribution. Since I have to move the forward arms anyways, I figure I'll just make them a bit shorter so they can be welded to the stiffeners while still bolting to the pinch seam.

Also, the tube step is great. I first installed mine before my jeep was lifted two years ago, and they were a bitch because I'd always hit my pant legs on them in the winter, and get my clothes dirty. But, after I lifted the jeep, I always used the step. Now that they are off, I have to run and jump (5'6")! They are useful because you can step up to the jeep before stepping into it. Also, it is so easy to get to the roof for any reason, including washing it. Don't make the mistake of going Stage I.

NCCherokee, JCR has options on their website - they will customize their sliders if you have a LA kit or if you have the TNT stiffies

and yes, i'd love to hear from someone who actually has the Detours one. I wish they'd post more pics/better pics, i'm interested in seeing how they mount up.

How do they mount to spring hangers any pics of this mounting spot?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Detours.

I don't have them yet, but they look like the beefiest you can get.
Have have a set of Detours. Your right. Well built, and beefy. Not saying there not worth it, but keep in mind they were about double the cost of my AJ's super rails. AJ makes a great product, and good service. (I have bought 3 sets so far). As previously mentioned, make sure you tell the manufacturer of the rails you decide on, what upper arms, or kit your using. It will make a difference where they locate the front mounting pad. Ask me why I know this.

This is precisely why I'm looking at JKS supernerfs. I'll not be doing the TNT stiffener/Y-link too soon but want sliders now. The sleeved tube system would make it easy to compensate for the thickness of the stiffeners. I thought I had seen a similar concept somewhere else. Anything come to mind?

Yeah but the Super nerfes are $424! That almost double what a set of JCRs are. It would be a lot cheaper to just cut the mounting plate and weld a set directly to the stiffeners.

EDIT: i would have to agree BillyBars are pretty sweet...
