Best Off Road Tires

The title of this thread is very misleading. Best offroad tire? Why are we discussing road manners and at's? A comp compound creepy or irok or BFF krawler will make any of the tires mentioned here look like a racing slick in comparison. Best compromise DD tire is a whole different story. I drive my jeep to the trails, so I went with a pitbull maddog bias ply. They are great offroad, yet still ride and wear decent on the street.

Doggone it - I was hoping the re-tread folks you guys said had good tires had 33's - None.

The re-tread has a decent design too...

Anyone have experience with the Goodyear Duratrac in hard pack snow? It gets pretty slippery up here in wintertime and I'm inclined to try these if others have had decent luck with them

Best off road tires? Talk about a loaded question!

That’s like asking what do you prefer Blondes, Brunettes or Redheads?

There is no answer, it is a personnel preference!

This thread could go 100 pages with 1000 different answers!

good luck with a 15 inch rim 33, but I'm running their 285/75r16 AT which has put up with a lot of stupid stuff I've done. It's *about* 33" tall.

MY duratracs are awesome in the snow. Slap all over the BFG AT's I used to have and the Yokahama Geolanders I had before that. People have had some problems with sidewall durability with them though so you might want to read some reviews on them. Jeep Forum has some good reviews of them in the tire and wheel section.

Well - first post for me here .......

FWIW - I just put BFG KM2s on my XJ. I've seen them in action on the trails as several Jeepers in the local Jeep club run them - they are just a great offroad tire IMO.
