Been there done that.... I had a "cabin" that when I moved in had just a plywood floor, no kitchen cabinets (or sink), no heat or air, and was only about a 3rd of the way done. The only room of the house that was more than 80% complete was the bathroom. Took me about 6 months, but I built cabinets (installed a sink too!!!), put down hardwood floors, and finsihed all the drywall work, installed heat and air, built a wraparound deck, and most of my buddys still thought it was a shithole. But it was mine, and I loved it. Lived there for two years. Ended up selling it a few years ago for a HEFTY profit.
I lived in a mobile home for a while, that after I got done living there, I just let the fire department burn it down. It was in too bad of shape to have it moved. So we burnt most of it, and then scrapped the metal frame. Sounds like I was poor, but actually i was just a hardworking college student living cheap so that I could get my business started up and off the ground like I wanted too. Now I am in much better shape than I would have ever imagined. My wife and I are still living cheap, but we own tons of rental property, and about 5 acres in a highly desireable area with great schools, and next year we will be building our dream house on that land.
