So your saying these would be the "catagories"? :
1. Buggies
2. Trailer Queen's
3. Trailer Queen's towed by Grand's (do they have to stay on the trailers and get judged together?)
4. Off Road only (driven)
5. Daily Drivers
6. DD's with chromies
7. Lowered DD's
8. Everything else

I think maybe we will stick with just 1 catagory to start with

Concours, there ya go. I'll run around with a white glove and torque wrench. Make sure you've got the right color washer fluid in the bottle. :D

I left Concourse off on purpose. Even my Grand is not in good enough condition to be considered for Concourse and it is nearly new (and always serviced at the dealer)!! :gee:

Back to the subject.

Anyone else have any better idea of a good place to do this (what about the park at the junction of 405 and 169? Any other good places to consider?

Thanks,
Michael

Last years Triumph Drive In was held on the lawn along the lake in Olympia below the capital building. I'm not sure what it takes to reserve a place like that though.

Kayak Point State Park?

Renton? Big lot there...right off the freeway.

I can check out Ft Dent down in Tukwila, too. That's right off 405. I remember it having pretty decent sized lots there. LOTS of field space and a nice playground, last I recall. :) Been a few years since I was there, working as quarry for the K9 units. :shiver:

Re: Scratch & Dent BBQ

Marymoor Park in Redmond has a very large grass area for parking.

I can't believe I never thought of that!!
That is an excellent place for such an event.

Thanks Mark,

We might need to call ahead but most of the time it's available.

I also suggested to Phil that some folks that are traveling might want to meet at one location near Downtown Seattle (right off the freeway) then Parade to the park. The floating bridge is cool when you have about 20 or 30 alike vehicles in line parading to an event... draws quite a bit of attention.

I did a similar event in 1998 where we set a world record with 2,338 Beetles (sponsored by KJR) called Beetlemania with Norm Gregory and Gary Bryan. They had to rename it the following year due to copyright issues.

http://archives.seattletimes.nwsour...738&date=19990605&query=marymoor+world+record

We all met at Edmonds Community College Parking lot and Convoyed Parade Style all the way down I-5 to 520 to Marymoor. Had an absolute BLAST!

We didn't break the record the next year - a festival in Arizona beat them.

I love it I love it! Finally some justification for all the money we pour into these heeps! ;) I'll be there as long as it is NOT July 21st. Out of town.

If we do it @ night we can use your rig as a spotlight to guide everyone to the event :laugh3:

No. The Prince of Darkness is not allowed.

I still think Sammamish State Park is the best spot; there is Volleyball, beaches and swimming areas on the lake, huge grass areas, lots of parking and it is relatively central (except for the Oregon guys like Jamez) in the Puget Sound Area.

Sounds like a winner to me....

possibly a farther south area could come up, so maybe some of the Oregon(Jamez) guys can make it.

Thanks for thinking of me b*tches.

Jamez.
