Badlands trip?

Till it rains then he runs home and doesn't tough it out! Missed a very unique WF campfire lol

Damn Chris, He called you out you gonna take that. I was all cozy in the back of my Jeep, so the rain didn't bother me! :D

Anyone going running 35" tires on 5x4.5 bolt pattern? If so was wondering sometime during the days if I could swap tires around, even just to see if they will fit under my current setup?

Thats not what i heard! :gag: :D

So can we put some facts in the first thread? I'm pounding away in school so I can only spend a few minutes on here at a time. I'm ready to go on the 24/25th of April as long as I know what is going on. I don't care about camp grounds as I/we'll probably be crashed on an air mattress in the XJ.

Wheeling 24th-25th of April (fri and Sat) at the Badlands offroad park (http://www.badlandsoffroad.com/).
-You can buy a one day pass for $20, or two day pass for $30, plus a $5 a day passenger fee.
-it IS required that you have an orange flag on your truck. If you dont already have one, they do sell them at the park, ($14 for a 1/4" pole w/flag)
-it is not required that your rig meet the official NAXJA minimum requirements, however it is strongly recommended. Having the minimum equipment requirements wont hurt you, it can only help you.

We will be camping at Summer's Campground (http://www.summerscampground.com/). There will be a good number of us arriving on Thursday evening to get an early start on friday.
-primitive camping is $16 a day, this includes two adults, and two children. additional adults will cost $8 per person.
-water and electric (1 unit per site) is $25 per day, same $8 per additional adult applies.

I am assuming that people will be staying saturday night at the campground as well for a bonfire of some sorts. There is alcohol allowed, as long as it is consumed in moderation, and stays AT YOUR CAMPSITE! They do not allow it at the pool, or in the Rec Center.

-We will be getting an early start at the park in the morning. We will meet in the parking lot inside the gate at 9:30am to get some trail groups organized, (park opens at 9:00am).

I think thats it....! If there's anything in here I need to change, or anything you want to do differently, let me know and I'll edit the first post as well.

I am going to say, if your junk is deemed unsafe, or you have no tow points, I will not wheel with you.
So make sure you have a battery tie down, seat belts, and adequate tow points, other than that, I don't care.

Am I allowed to make an un-official appearance and join in a group or is it still XJ's only thing and all others piss off? I may come down Saturday with my co-pilot who is now 6. He/we need a change of pace from the Cliffs every weekend.

Thanks.... whomever you are. Is there a head count for this trip? I don't want to make the drive with my 6 year old to meet up with just 2 of you knuckleheads!!

I do miss my XJ though. Saw it in the fall at the Cliffs, sitting in 3 feet of water. I wanted to cry. All the sweat from welding in a whole new floor pan, relining inside and out, new carpet. Oh well... Kid didn't know what he had.

Sean or Rev... is an XJ still a requirement for membership in NAXJA? I let mine lapse. I do "maintain" 3 other XJ's in my family. So to speak.

I guess I just miss you guys....

I'm planning on being there, probably drive out Friday afternoon, wheel Saturday, head home early Sunday.

I don't have any firewood since I donated all that to WF, and I'm pretty low on homebrew but I may be able to fill a couple growlers.

Hopefully the heep is alright, I haven't looked at it since Moab.

I'm in also, still gotta reserve a site though. I'll be arriving Friday afternoon, wheeling Sat. and going home Sunday about noon.

See everyone there!

Phil
