no tow point besides all the visible brackets under the bumper. but that photo was taken at the badlands they never said anything about tow points to me.:dunno:

For sponsered events, front and rear tow points are required. For MWC events, the Trail master decides (in most cases use the same guidelines - tow points required)...

Badlands won't require them but they are a requirement. And Mac reccomended requirements.

I mean if you got stuck and needed to get pulled from the front what do we hook too.

Just a thought. You still have a month to figure out a front tow point lol.

I wasn't saying it was, I was just stating that we are more or less used to having front tow points because that is the standard that we use regularly. But like Stryker and Flex said its just not fun when you get stuck...

I didn't say it was. I was merely pointing out that Mac recommended the requirements. Ultimately you can go wheel your rig with out a front. I am just saying it is HIGHLY recommended.

he has the rear hitch so if he gets stuck we can get him out, we looked for somewere on that truck to put a hook and there isnt much that makes one accesable

thread jacked, its weird they make a front tow hitch for a 00 durango but not one listed for a 99 like samsets, any one know the diffrence?

I won;t be there, so it ain't up to me.....BUT:

After trying to recover several vehicles at our last trail clean up with no front tow points, I won't wheel with anyone that does not have them.

I know it sucks.....but it is much better to install them at home, then to have your buddies try to crawl under and connect a strap in the frozen mud.

a durango has a frame right? you can bolt a tow hook to the frame up front somewhere can't you?

i would much prefer that you have a tow hook on the front. otherwise its you in the mud wrapping a strap around the axle...well hell you have IFS, where do you wrap a strap too?

you live close to fort wayne? i have a tow hook I will give you to bolt to the frame?

yea i have a frame but if you saw it you would see what im saying. tomorrow ill get some close up pics on her of the front end see if any gurus have any ideas.

I'm ready to rock and roll.... but there are a few things i could still install before i go.

Here's the list:
-Install new TRE boots (ripped)
-Install Shackle relocation brackets
-Install Transfercase w/SYE installed already

Seems completely possible as I am currently unemployed so i've got the time. Now i just gotta get off my lazy ars and do it!

I could get in mine and hit the road now, but of course that won't do.

My to-do list:
1) paint and install gas tank from the JY
2) install v8 ZJ tie rod from the JY and new TREs on both sides, alignment
3) quit being lazy and install DPG swaybar link cables so I don't have to unbolt them this time

BTW, I picked up an extra v8 ZJ tie rod at the JY, couldn't resist because it was so easy. If anyone wants me to bring it, I'll make you a good deal.

I was hoping to have my new JCR tail light guards and boxes installed for this run but i just got off the phone with JCR it doesnt look like theyll get shipped out middle of next week which means they probably wont get here till friday. So unless i spend all day painting and wiring up the LEDs i dont think they will be on the jeep by saturday morning
