Just wanted to thank everyone for thier input on my trip. As planned, my sis and I got to Ouray and ended up renting a cabin at Timber Ridge campground which I highly recommend. Saturday a.m. we got out to Black Bear Pass and ran into a group of Red Rocks 4 Wheelers from Moab with the same plans as ours, asked if we could join in thier group and they were all too happy to oblige. As expected, the scenery up there is amazing and having a nice group of people to share the experience with was just a plus. We hung out in Telluride for a short while and were off to Imogene Pass back to Ouray. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful it is up there and I don't have my pictures developed yet and no hosting service, but I'll have them in Moab :) . The Red Rocks group insisted that we join them for dinner that night at the Mexican joint in town. These are some kewl people and we truly enjoyed thier company. Sunday a.m. we were out early and took Engineer Pass to Lake City and then headed north through Gunnison to Crested Butte and then over Cottonwood Pass where we got some spectacular pix (if they turn out) of a huge storm over Taylor Lake. We took a roundabout trip back to Lakewood and are quite satisfied that although our trip was brief, it was all we could have hoped it would be and then some.

Just wanted to share some of our fun, say thanks, and remind everyone that life is amazing as long as we let it be. Now, its one day rest and then off to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore and whatever else is up there with my girlfriend and her daughters :) :)

Like Ed says,
Happy trails,

Dang it. See, you had me confused... I live in the San Juans. I was trying to figgure out what you were talking about, but continued to come up empty.

Then it dawned on me.... you where talking about the San Juan MOUNTAINS out East in Colorado. I live in the San Juans..... the San Juan ISLANDS.
Now ya done gave me a headache, see we have some hills here... couple hundred feet high or so. But the "passes" we talk about here..... no XJ in this club could make without help....even Goatman's rig. See, our passes here are several hundred feet deep, topped with salt water. :D :D

Ouray definately rules!!

Sounds like you had a goof time with some good Jeepers. I can't wait to get back to the San Juans personally.
