Aussie Locker coming for the 8.25

That was fun. I just read almost three years of posts for the first time. :) I got really excited when last year at this time everyone was saying the Aussie locker was coming out in the Spring ('07). I was all set to find a dealer and order one! Then the thread kept going....and going....and I started to get nervous that the production date kept being delayed. Then I read the bad news, the past caught up to me! :( Now it is "Wait until Spring '08!" UGH! I really got excited I was going to send my money to get one now...but no.

Best price I've seen on the No-Slip is $370. How much cheaper is the Aussie going to be? Wouldn't that be the worst part of the joke?! After waiting 3 years they deliver it with a price of $400!

PT No-Slip from DC4wd... somewhere around 355.00 shipped... IIRC..

That's what I didnt understand.... Say the Aussie "IF IT EVER HAPPENS" <-- and I doubt it... costs $255.00... was it worth waiting years for only $100.00?

That's a great price. I just wrote them to check. Considering the Aussie may never come out that isn't a bad price. But let's say the Aussie was out today, and only $260 and "smoother" than the Powertrax. Well it seems like a no brainer right? Any reason in that scenario to still go with the Powertrax?

Kill this thread - its never going to happen. Stop talking about vaporware. The next post on this thread should either be an announcement that someone actually has a production version in their hands, or that the thread is dead. Stop perpetuating the myth.

Anyone who says that an Aussie is smoother than a No-Slip is absolutely crazy... the Aussie is even harsher than the Lockright IMO....

"The Chrysler 29 spline 8.25 is scheduled for production in late March. We
apologize for the delay.

Thank you for considering the Aussie Locker."

Just to yank their chain I asked two weeks ago why I couldn't find the 8.25 on their web page, this was their answer. What Gomers! They're never going to make one for the C 8.25!

All of the BS answers from them make me want to buy something else even if they do have one when I buy, and I don't know if I even want one for the front now.:flamemad: :twak:

go with alloys and the 27 spline lock-rite

I just picked up one! Set up just like this but with 456 gears for $375. Worth a try for that kind of coin, AND I'm moth balling the 29er cuz I got the exact same answer last week. Late march early april

Just be honest. Damn Aussie:hang:Who wants to buy anything from Liers:thumbdn:

I just decided what I'm going to use my $600 refund for. So if Aussie can get a locker on the self by May then maybe I will go with them. Otherwise I'm getting a Powertrax.

Thanks US Govt
