Considering Baylor's MBA program... anyone familiar with it or the area?

I live outside of Waco. It's still easy enough to live in the country, and drive into town for work or school. Check out centex offroad militia. There is enough growth in the surrounding areas to sustain employment. Some good restaurants, and friendly people, except me, I'm a jerk. hot4wd also may help ya out, it's a yahoo group.

Baylor isn't bad...just pricey for what it is. If you are considering a school in Texas for your MBA, there are more choices.

But Baylor has Robbie... the Dr. Pepper drinking bear. THAT DUDE ROCKS!

I'm sure there are other schools; the cost isn't much of a concern as I consider it an investment in my future. I've looked quite a bit at Baylor and like what it has to offer. I'm not dead set on moving to Texas, I'm set on moving to a school that has a program I'm interested in.

That being said I'd like to get some grub and beer when I come to visit :D

Austin for UT it is then. We gots Texmex, bbq, and lonestar.

Kurt,
It takes the fun out of it if you go and edit everything.

I am in Waco and have friends that are Professors at Baylor. I can probably get any answers you want. My daughter a UT grad looked at Baylor for her MBA as did my wife. Both opted for UT daughter finished and wife is close.

Our reason for UT was cost and ROI. If cost had not been a factor I think both would have chosen Baylor.

If you can afford Baylor out of state tuition I would recommend it. Good school with good rep in Business.

I have lived in many places througout the USA and I'm here in Waco by choice :)

Shout if you need anything.

I'm coming out to visit the campus. April 28-30 I'll be in Texas.

I land at Love Field in Dallas on April 28th at 3:10pm. Dollar had a special rental rate on compact SUV's so I'll be rolling a Liberty. Mapquest shows a little under 2 hours to Waco. Not sure how traffic is out there, but in LA that would be a 3+ hour drive once traffic is factored in.

I'd like to meet some of you guys, maybe dinner on the 28th?

I plan to tour the campus, sit in on classes and meet students on the 29th so I'd prefer to keep it as open as possible.

Fly out at 12:30 on the 30th.

Lol! Ours ain't much better they built them and didn't plan for rain because it NEVER rains in So Cal!

Careful with those Davidians out there John! Have fun though man. :D

Just to set the record straight... Those crack pots were not IN Waco. They were in a small town outside of Waco... Just that Waco was the closest "big town" in the area. Texas is SO BIG that most of you other outlanders wouldn't be able to that town on a map. Come to think of it I don't think I would be able to find it on a real map not map quest.

And what small town would that be?

That was right off of hwy 84 between Waco and.....Mexia. Yup, the Mexia.

There is an acutal town where they were. I don't know the name of it off hand but I will find out for you.
