A spare rear axle they want to give it away. Does not matter if it is a D35 or an 8.25 but as long as I can bolt it to my XJ to move my junk around the yard while my new rear axle is being built. Gear ratio does not matter either as I am not even going to hook up a drive shaft.

Let me know and if you can bring it next Sun to the SoCal end of year meeting that would be great.

Thanks

When do you need it by? I might have an 8.25 that you can borrow :D

Probably in the next three weeks. No big rush.

So, what's the new axle?

I have a non c-clip 35 with a broken shaft you can have free. If someone swings by my house to help me load it, i'll bring it to the end of year meet.. otherwise it's off of harbor and the 91, and i'll help you load it. ;)

Ask him once now... then again in an hour... and then tomorrow. Each answer will be different :D

Sit on it and rotate :D

I only need it to move around the driveway. Broken will work but definitly not smooth.

For a few pennies more you could go hi9. The 35 spline axles cost the same as 31. Do it right the first time, you'll be money ahead in the end.

Thanks David for the advice,

I actaully have 5 alloy shafts from Paul,an ARB and the Explorer brakes(out of my current axle) right now so I am half way towards the CHP. I figured I will run it for a short while on 35s and later I will upgrade to the TruHi9 and eventually put the CHP in a future front axle (with D60 ends :D)

Dave, you have an excellent point...exactly what I would do. But what would I know? My 12 bolt out of a blazer now has a broken c-clip axle. It broke at the splines and now I cant get the axle in far enough to get the c-clip out. I have some thinking to do now. I'm in the process of building a buggy and really didn't want to spend any more money on the XJ...right now.

If your going to use 60 ends you will want to use 35spline front stuff as well.
Just something to think about.
