Anyone goin to slick rock this weekend?

Sorry I couldn't make it out, hopefully you got my text and weren't trying to find me for hours.

As an update to the family emergency. My dad fell and tore his rotator cuff in 2 places, had to have emergency surgery that morning, and my mom needed someone with her to help out over the weekend. He's ok now, they released him yesterday and he's home and resting, in a lot of pain.

The trail had a bit of traffic so we killed time playing horseshoes waiting for the slower moving groups to get further ahead. Left camp around 1 or 2 I think and still ran into a broken rig that was stuck in the middle of the trail and then got myself high centered on a rock.

quick winch and all was good.

I have a feeling it's going to be busy this weekend not looking forward to it but ima get up there as early as possible snag a good camp spot and get a bunch of wheeling in before the crowd shows up

Lucky you guys didn't go to the Rubicon this weekend. Weather was horrible and there was broken trail tampons everywhere. Bad times.

I heard about a lot of breakage on one of those XJ FB groups...

Someone appeared to have winched 3 massive boulders into a section of Slick rock that used to be just super mellow, it was all new stuff, one CJ sheared a tie rod end and a was a trail tampon while they welded it, they wouldn't let people pass around...then a full-size chevy got stuck in the same spot for like 4-5 hours after we passed through it... trail is still easy but a few of the easy sections got more difficult, but the stair steps are as easy as ever, super stacked, no massive boulders winched in the way there currently.

I really want to do Fordyce very soon

Good lord.

I was actually joking.
There was a lot of broken junk but people were nice and pulled the string out so that the trail could flow.
Our group had a fantastic time.
