anyone ever find New nutstrips for rear hitch

I am installing a rear bumper/skid plate and was hoping to find a "nutstrip" for the frame rail. Well I dont want to hit up a junk yard for em if I can get em new?

Worst case anyone have any for sale for the rear frame rail?

well ya know.. screw it. I am just going to do some 1" wide x .25 strip and drill the holes adn weld some nuts to it. cant be more then liek 10$ for the metal and nuts and that all local.

That's pretty much what the OEM ones are, although they're more like 3/16" MAX.

The only thing I can caution you on is that you might hav eto put some bends in it to clear obsticles, take a good look inside. There is an access hole behind the bumper, pull it off and you'll see it. Shine a flashlight in there to make sure before getting it done I'd say.

They still have them. When you go to Don A Vee have the part number ready, Bob doesn't like looking up little stuff like that.

When I did my rear bumper, I used 1.5" wide by 3/4" thick bar stock. you have to clearance it on the passenger side for the exhaust hanger bolts but then you just mark the holes, take em out and drill and tap them. then weld it to your bumper for added strength. makes it easier to put in the tank skid as well.

if you need some i have some that are only for the 2 bolts that are 3 1/4" center-center spaced holes. They are out of 1/4 steel that has been tapped for a 1/2-13 threads. just drop me a PM.
