Am I cursed?????

Last weekend I have crushed my middle right finger (Friday week ago to be exact) and I'm still recovering from it (swelling went down significantly but I still can't fully bend it and there are "untouchable" spots).......
Now this weekend... about 1 hr ago, I have effectively sliced
my left hand index finger open!!!! from the bottom part (not sure what it's called, but the part that the prints come from) all the way up through the nail!!! The nail is cut about 1/4" at least in half (I cut lengthwise)........
Damn..... what am I to expect next weekend???? Especially considering that I'm going to a HUGE wedding...... (no not mine thank god!)

I thought it translated to Ketchup Jar... hence the habitual bleeding. :D

Better keep your "hootus" under wraps
I'm happy to say that for as much as I use herculiner on my rig, I have never came even close to such a tragedy :)

Yea, keep your zipper up and don't put your tounge where it does not belong and wear steel toed boots :D

Yes you are cursed, but there is a way to mitigate the carnage...

Simply drink more, and more often! Eventually you'll build up an immunity to those pesky little flesh wounds, plus it dulls the shrill lamentations of women who's carpet & upholstry you have just bled upon.

LOL as I cut the finger, before I examined the wound I have examined the freshly (couple days ago) painted wall for spots as I would have REALLY been peeved if I messed that up LOL

Kejtar
P.S. Don't have to worry about the carpet as finally the wooden floors are in and I'm in a slow albeit painful process of moving things back were they belong...

Kejtar...I have never known a more hateful group of 'friends' in my life!! Don't they feel your pain...? Having spent the last twenty odd years installing flooring (how did your wood turn out anyway?) I have cut up just about every opendage my body has!(thankfully not my hooooootus!)
But as I tell all my apprentices.....DON'T BLEED ON THE CARPET!
I hope whatever you cut yourself with was real sharp. The cuts with the dull blades/edges take much longer to heal!
You may now join T-Bent in the infermery...(although he is probably all healed by now)

That wisdom was hard earned and involved a few bottles of tequila w/worms, broads, jarheads, swabbies and some articulation of said appendages in an attempt to ..... ahhh you get the idea :D The corpsmen were not amused that morning and neither were the gunnys or section chiefs :( The shore patrol thought it was hilarious.
Nothing more humiliating than being a sailor and having a gunny rip you a new one, the jarheads felt the same way when our chief tore into them. At any rate no more worm eating contests for a while. Stick your tounge far enough in a bottle and it swells, won't come back out, nough said.....

All healed up :D Hey Remi, I can learn ya how to use a table saw? or maybe even a shaper? Them table saw bites can really smart.

Tim

It wasn't a table saw.... it was a damn exacto knife that slipped and as I "braked it" so that it wouldn't slice into anything ahead of me, I somehow twisted my wrist up into another finger which was originally a fair ways away and away from where the knife orignally was....

Kejtar

Remi, I've decided that whenever I'm trimming fenders and cutting the hole for the sunroof, while I'll allow you to help, you are not allowed to do the cutting! I don't want blood on teh seats of my XJ!

Hateful? Naw. Laughing? Yup... indeed. See, I spent most of my entire adult life as an Auto Tech. Worked at VW in Europe and GM. Small and big shops here in the US, and even owned my own shop.

See, a cut/sliced finger is nothing to me. I have had them all.... but customers do not care. So I can only use half of my digits..... "I could care less.... I want my car on time"

So when I see other people that complain about mechanics and what we charge (yeah, I still do some on the side.... and still love my Snap-On tools that save my knuckles!) and how they are getting ripped off....I get a good chuckle out of it. Not saying Remi is not a Mechanic... heck, for all I know, he may be a Computer Programmer.... but it seems fitting when people rip their skin apart, bleed all over the place, then whine about what Mechanics charge to do the job that they tried to do.... and cut their fingers open. :D

Don't get me started on the fools that keep bringing their 2nd, 3rd, 4th Alternator back saying it is bad.... When they cannot even troubleshoot a voltage draw.... but swear it is the fault of the Alternator that you sold em that is doing the same thing as the BAD one they took out. AND they have the bloody fingers to prove it!

Me.... I think it is funny. I live to see people with bloody fingers and knuckles. I love to see the same people complain about what Techs charge to work on their rigs. However, what is even funnier.... you look at what they do for a living.... and how much they charge an hour for their product. It is no longer funny.

See, a $100 Craftsman tool set makes everybody a mechanic these days. Ain't it grand? ;)

Just some humor for your Tuesday night. Thats why I do not run my own Auto shop anymore.... everybody can do it these days. But damn... slice a finger? whoa boy. ;) hehehehe

How is that finger anyhow Remi?

LOL... well I got this injury while working on a installing ethernet upstairs... which definately does not qualify as mechanical work....

It's ok... although I can say that with the sliced finger and crushed finger, typing is a major B%#%!
